What Should Have Been a Short Trip to the Doctor, Just 25 Km from Home, Ended Up Being a Journey of More Than 1,500 Km for an 85-Year-Old Man Who Could Not Explain How He Made the Journey
An octogenarian from Chatillon-sur-Thouet, in Deux-Sèvres, was found in Croatia after disappearing unexpectedly when he only intended to see his doctor in Airvault, about 25 kilometers from home. His absence from a meeting of an association he was linked to caught the attention of the group members. Worried, they alerted emergency services upon realizing that the elderly man had not attended the meeting scheduled for Tuesday night.
Neighbors also expressed alarm. They reported that they had not seen him throughout the day, which was out of the ordinary. The set of alerts prompted rescue teams to quickly head to the man’s residence.
