Federal Institute of Rio Grande do Sul Opens Registrations with Thousands of Free Slots in Technical Courses, EJA, and In-Person Degrees Distributed in 17 Cities, Offering Various Admission Options and a Defined Calendar for the Selection Process.
The Federal Institute of Rio Grande do Sul (IFRS) opened the 2026/01 Selection Process with more than 5,700 free slots in 183 course options offered in-person across 17 cities in the state.
The opportunities include integrated high school, Adult Education (EJA), technical courses, and degrees, all certified by IFRS.
The only exception in distance format is the technical course in Didactic Multimedia at the Osório Campus.

Available Slots in 17 Cities in RS
The selection includes the campuses in Alvorada, Bento Gonçalves, Canoas, Caxias do Sul, Erechim, Farroupilha, Feliz, Ibirubá, Osório, Porto Alegre, Restinga (Porto Alegre), Rio Grande, Rolante, Sertão, Vacaria, Veranópolis, and Viamão.
The offerings include integrated high school with technical training, with options in EJA.
There are also concurrent technical courses for those studying high school in another institution.
Other slots are for subsequent technical courses, aimed at those who have already completed high school.
In addition, the process includes degree courses in various fields, such as licenciatures, bachelor’s degrees, and technological degrees.
Admission Methods at IFRS
The admission method depends on the chosen course.
In some cases, selection will be conducted through an IFRS exam.
In others, by using the Enem score from 2020 to the latest edition.
There are also courses that utilize public lottery as the classification criterion.
For EJA, the selection will be exclusively through lottery.
Registration Fees
The fees vary according to the modality.
For admission via lottery or Enem, the fee is R$ 30.00.
Those opting for the exam will pay R$ 100.00 for degree courses and R$ 70.00 for technical courses.
In EJA, there is no fee charged.
Even those who requested exemption must complete the registration on the IFRS website.
The system automatically generates a proof of exemption for those who obtained free registration or a bank slip for others.
The deadline for payment is October 13, 2025.
Dates of the 2026/01 Selection Process
The announcement for the process was published on September 24, 2025.
Registrations will remain open until October 12, 2025.
The exams for courses that require an exam will be held on November 23, 2025.
The public lotteries are scheduled for December 5, 2025.
Courses at the Viamão Campus
The Viamão Campus opens slots in two modalities.
In the technical courses integrated with high school, Administration and Environmental Studies are offered, both lasting four years with options in the morning or afternoon.
Admission is by lottery, with a fee of R$ 30.00.
In the higher technology courses, there are two evening options: Environmental Management, lasting six semesters, and Management Processes, lasting five semesters.
In these cases, admission can occur through the IFRS exam, with a fee of R$ 100.00, or through the Enem score, with a fee of R$ 30.00.

Viamão Campus Assistance
For in-person guidance, the Viamão Campus operates at Rodovia Tapir Rocha, 7,000, Bairro Querência, Viamão/RS.

How to Register for the Process
Registrations must be completed by October 12, 2025, exclusively through the electronic form available on the site ingresso.ifrs.edu.br.
To complete the process, the candidate needs a personal CPF and an active registration on gov.br.
Using a parent or guardian’s document is not allowed.
