Who Can Participate and Admission Methods
Those who have completed high school or are in the process of completing it by the enrollment date can apply. There are three admission pathways. The first is through the ENEM, accepting editions from 2016 to 2025. In this model, the scores for the areas and the essay apply, provided there is no zero score.
The second pathway is the review of the school transcript combined with an online essay. In this modality, the online essay is eliminatory, and the final classification considers the averages of Portuguese Language and Mathematics from the transcript, according to the notice’s criteria.
The third pathway is through future spots via SiSU, which are released in a specific notice following the MEC timeline. Even with more than one admission method, it is important to keep up with the official timeline and choose the modality that best showcases your performance.
Applications, Deadlines, and Fees: What You Can’t Miss
Applications are open from August 4, 2025, at 2 PM, until September 15, 2025, and must be done exclusively online. The fee is R$ 30, with the possibility of exemption until August 20, 2025 for those who meet the criteria set out in the notice, including proof via CadÚnico for low-income cases.
Payment is made in the Candidate Area through PagTesouro, with options for PIX, credit card, and GRU Simple boleto. Pay attention to the payment dates: PIX and credit card until September 15 and boleto until September 16. The confirmation of enrollment occurs in the Candidate Area after processing.
Keep all receipts and monitor the lists of approved applications. If there is a denial, the notice provides specific deadlines for appeals, also through the Candidate Area.
Online Essay: Operation and Calendar
Those opting for transcript + online essay will take the test on October 26, 2025. Access instructions will appear on the Final Registration Card, released on October 13, 2025 in the Candidate Area.
The essay must follow the dissertative-argumentative standard, meet the minimum line count, and adhere to identification rules and human rights.
The examination is fully online on a computer, with timed conditions. In case of a temporary disconnection, it is possible to resume, but the timer does not stop. Prepare your equipment, internet, and a quiet environment in advance to avoid issues.
Spots by IFMG Campus
The distribution of spots by campus and course varies according to the modality. For illustration, IFMG Bambuí offers Biological Sciences (Teaching Degree) with 15 spots via ENEM and 12 via transcript + essay. It is a good entry point for those seeking teacher training in science areas.
At IFMG Congonhas, the Physics (Teaching Degree) course offers 10 spots via ENEM and 10 via transcript + essay, serving different candidate profiles based on performance in the ENEM or in the high school transcript.
Meanwhile, IFMG Ouro Preto provides Geography (Teaching Degree) with 20 spots via ENEM and 10 via transcript + essay, expanding opportunities for those planning to work in basic education and in territorial and environmental projects.
