The Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica (ITA), a nationally recognized institution of excellence, is offering five free online courses (E-Learning) through the Coursera platform. The programs cover crucial areas of engineering, computing, and systems control, representing a valuable opportunity to enhance knowledge and skills flexibly and accessibly.
With an average duration of four weeks, the courses are designed to be completed at the student’s own pace, offering flexibility to balance studies with other activities. It is important to note that most of the programs are classified as intermediate level, being more suitable for those who already have some familiarity with the topics covered.
Details of the Free Courses Offered
ITA offers five free online courses (E-Learning), each focusing on a specific aspect of technology:
-
Surprising opportunity in the railway sector: MRS offers a free course for assistant train driver and shunter in Juiz de Fora with a R$ 1,600 scholarship, specialized training, and the chance to join one of the largest railway operators in Brazil.
-
It’s official: IFMS opens spots in free courses on artificial intelligence, drones, and app creation, expanding technological education in 2026 and preparing students for areas with high professional demand and accelerated digital transformation.
-
Senai launches an unprecedented program with Petrobras and opens 2,000 spots in free courses with recognized certification, a monthly allowance of R$ 600, and training for industrial professions that continue hiring across the country.
-
Petrobras and SENAI open 480 spots in free technical courses with a scholarship of up to R$ 858, meal allowance, and training in Mechanics, Welding, Metallurgy, and Industrial Automation to meet the growing demand of the industry and the oil and gas sector.
- Principles of Agile Software Development (Intermediate Level): Aimed at Java developers seeking to enhance their agile modeling techniques, this course has a workload of 16 hours, spread over four modules. Topics include the Agile Manifesto, product backlog, Scrum and XP methodologies, agile meetings and events, and Scrum roles.
- Introduction to Systems Control: This course explores the fundamental concepts of systems control, highlighting its importance and applications in modern society. With 18 hours of content divided into four modules, it covers the definition of systems control and the operation of feedback control.
- Agile Development with Design Patterns (Intermediate Level): Ideal for Java programmers with knowledge of object-oriented programming who wish to deepen their understanding of design patterns in the context of agile development. The course lasts 18 hours, organized into four modules, and introduces patterns such as Singleton, Factory, Proxy, Decorator, Adapter, and Observer, as well as composition and modularity strategies.
- Control Using Frequency Response (Intermediate Level): This course covers advanced concepts of linear time-invariant systems (LTIS), emphasizing frequency response, Bode diagram, and Nichols-Black chart. With a workload of six hours, the content is distributed across five modules.
- Discrete-Time Control: The objective of this course is to introduce the topic of Discrete-Time Control for linear time-invariant systems. Techniques for implementing computer controllers are presented, considering the inherent time discretization in its use. The course consists of 11 hours of content, divided into four modules.
Certification and Financial Aid
Although access to the course content is free, ITA offers the option to obtain a completion certificate upon payment of a fee of US$ 29. For those facing financial difficulties, the Coursera platform provides the possibility to request financial aid directly on the course page, which can secure the certificate at no cost.
