Detran-SP Auction in Caieiras Brings Together Conserved Vehicles, Scrap for Dismantling, and Lots Destined for Recycling, with Completely Online Bidding.
The São Paulo State Traffic Department (Detran-SP) will hold an auction with 1,288 units collected for violations in the Caieiras region. Sales begin on September 8 and run until the 12th.
According to the notice published in the Official State Gazette, there will be 242 conserved vehicles, capable of being driven, including cars and motorcycles. Another 576 lots will be sold as usable scrap for dismantling, and 470 will be destined for foundry or recycling.
The organization will be managed by Sumaré Leilões, with bids and sessions conducted on the website www.sumareleiloes.com.br. Registrations can be made up to 48 hours before the desired category starts.

How the Distribution of Days Will Be
The auction will last five days in total. In the first two days, the conserved vehicles will be auctioned. Between the second and third days, it will be the turn of the usable scrap. The last day will be dedicated to unusable scrap.
The notice contains detailed information about each lot, such as brand, model, engine, color, year, and the initial value defined by experts.
The minimum bid considers the state of conservation and market values.
Visitation and Rules to Know the Lots
Interested parties will be able to visit the lots between September 1 and 5, from 9 AM to 5 PM. Handling, removal of parts, or any testing is not allowed.
The vehicles and scrap will be sold in the condition they are found, without guarantees. They are distributed across three yards of the Rede Paraná Guinchos, located in Caieiras and Franco da Rocha.
Operation of the Pre-Bid
The pre-bid starts on September 1 at 9 AM and serves to register an offer before the public session. If there is no higher value within 30 seconds in the bidding, the pre-bid wins.
Once registered, it is not possible to withdraw the bid, following Federal Law No. 14,133/2021. Those who choose not to pre-bid can participate normally during the session.
For conserved cars, the minimum increase is R$ 100.00. For usable scrap, it is R$ 50.00. In the case of scrap for recycling, the value is R$ 0.02 per kilogram.
Right of Recovery by the Owner
Even with the vehicle listed for auction, the owner can recover it up to one business day before the auction. To do so, they must pay all debts and fees, according to Contran Resolution 623/2016.

All times follow the Brasília time zone. If there is a technical failure of the auctioneer for more than 30 minutes, the session will be suspended and rescheduled. Connection issues from the participant do not generate compensation nor interrupt the bidding.
Participation Restrictions
Detran-SP, linked to the Secretariat of Management and Digital Government, opens the auction to all who meet the requirements. However, there are prohibitions to preserve the safety and integrity of the process.
Employees of Detran-SP and their relatives up to the second degree, auctioneers and their teams, as well as owners, partners, or administrators of outsourced yards and their relatives are not allowed to participate.
Individuals and legal entities penalized with contracting restrictions by public administration, according to Federal Laws No. 14,133/2021 and No. 10,520/2002, are also prohibited.
Procedures and Recommendations
The organizers recommend using the pre-bid to avoid technical problems during bidding. In addition, they advise that participants read the notice carefully, check the condition of the lots, and confirm their category of participation before registering.
The auction will be fully online, with real-time monitoring on the official Sumaré Leilões website.
