Log-In Logística renewed port concession to begin investing in the Vila Velha port terminal
The contract with the responsible company Log-In Logística Intermodal S.A. was set to end in 2023 and will be renewed until September 2048.
The company’s initial commitment was to invest 120 million reais to modernize the terminal, including two new cranes with higher capacity and reach; and a new automation system for loaders and cranes; and five new forklifts and 14 semi-trailers to expand the yard’s cargo handling capacity and a new management system at the boarding gate and at the terminal.
Company Investments
During the 25-year contract, Log-In will also invest over R$ 434 million to ensure the maintenance, renewal, and/or replacement of the assets necessary for port activities. The president of Log-In Logística stated that this is one of the most important steps in the company’s development process, and these investments can help develop the sustainable development of the country and the competitiveness of the port and terminal market.
