The Use of Technology at All Stages, Including Through AI, to Optimize Processes and Results
The term Logistics 4.0 has been used for a few years and is related to a system that utilizes automation and the use of technology throughout all stages that integrate logistics. It is a way to make this operation “smart,” through a cohesive, efficient, automated, and highly visible productive system.
And one of the companies responsible for providing services that align with the application of this concept of Logistics 4.0 is Geoforce Brasil, a company considered a global leader in providing strong asset tracking and monitoring solutions based on satellite and cellular technology across different markets.
Among the clients in Brazil are oil & gas exploration companies, global equipment rental companies, suppliers of chemical products, manufacturers of heavy machinery used throughout Brazil, among others. In the international market, notable clients include aviation companies, construction firms, mining, transportation, logistics, as well as agricultural companies.

Filipinas used coconut fiber to contain oil in the sea after an environmental disaster, turned discarded shells into biodegradable barriers, protected mangroves, and showed how agricultural waste can become a green weapon against spills that threaten oceans and coastal communities.

Brazil has 8.4 million illiterates and more than half live in the Northeast, where 10.6% of people cannot read or write a simple note, compared to 2.3% in the Southeast, according to the Pnad Contínua Educação 2025 from IBGE.

A black box made of steel and concrete, about 16 meters in size, is being installed in a remote location on Earth to record in real-time the progress of the climate crisis and the potential collapse of the planet, with data from space and meteorological agencies worldwide.

A great economist predicted that by 2030 we would work only 15 hours a week, and John Maynard Keynes’s forecast is about to fail miserably almost 100 years later.
Within this scenario, software and technologies capable of supporting each stage of the supply chain are applied. The result is the automation of processes and resource savings, including financial ones. In this process, cutting-edge technologies are used, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data, and Computing, among others, aiming to create intelligent networks integrated into the supply chain.
One of the practical applications, when speaking of AI, is related to cargo theft. In these cases, a tracking device can assist in this circumstance. “Companies can, based on our devices, our technology, through AI, achieve results in potential cargo thefts. By acquiring our tracking services, companies can implement AI to reduce cargo theft,” explains André Chaboudet, General Manager of Geoforce in Brazil.
Another example in Logistics 4.0 is the optimization of operations and logistics processes, where the client gains visibility during transport, controlling safety items for their asset, reducing bureaucracy, improving and modernizing management, ensuring a faster, connected, smart, and efficient logistics capable of providing cost reduction and greater focus on the client’s business strategy.
According to recent research by NTC&Logística (National Association of Cargo Transport and Logistics), cargo theft resulted in a loss of R$ 1.2 billion in 2022. According to the survey, the region of the country most affected was the Southeast, with 85.18% of the records, followed by the South, Northeast, Central-West, and North regions. The most targeted products by criminals are foodstuffs, fuels, pharmaceuticals, auto parts, textiles, and clothing.
