Firjan Senai Consolidates Partnership With The City Hall of São Gonçalo and Prepares to Offer More Than 400 Vacancies in Free Technical Courses in Various Schools in The Municipality.
On this Monday (15), the City Hall of São Gonçalo renewed its partnership with Firjan/Senai to offer free vocational courses. The initiative provides 400 new vacancies in free technical courses, in addition to expanding the teaching locations to now include ten schools in the municipal network. Classes are expected to start in July, offering options in the morning, afternoon, and evening shifts.
Requirements to Enroll in Free Firjan Senai Courses
The free technical courses have a minimum age requirement of 18 years, along with different levels of schooling. The free courses focus on low-income populations to facilitate professional qualification and enable entry into the job market.
For 2024, courses are planned for building electrician, logistics operations assistant, administrative assistant, boilermaker, industrial clothing sewer, maintenance mechanic, manual modeling pattern maker, operator of machine tools, and carbon steel electrode arc welder 6G, among others.

Following the partnership established in 2023, classes were opened within the Firjan Senai structure and in public schools in the municipal education network. This model will be followed in this offer of vacancies in free technical courses.

- Municipal School Leda Vargas Giannerini, in Tribobó;
- Municipal School Anísio Espínola Teixeira, in Santa Luzia.
City Hall Comments on Partnership With Firjan Senai
The agreement was signed by Mayor Captain Nelson on the afternoon of this Monday (15), during a meeting with the Secretary of Economic Development, Eugênio Abreu, and representatives from Firjan Senai; Bruno Aguiar, Professional Education Coordinator; Anderson Cavalcante, Market Relationship Analyst; and Ricardo Pereira, Operations Manager of Leste Fluminense.
According to Mayor Captain Nelson, the city hall is increasingly committed to seeking partnerships to qualify residents of the region. Offering quality education and training the population to always be ready to compete for the best job vacancies is one of his priorities.
The new agreement democratizes access to free technical courses through ten new locations spread throughout the city, where classes will be held. The Secretary of Economic Development, Eugênio Abreu, states that it was possible to include schools to receive the courses. Students had to travel from Monjolos, Tribobó, and Santa Izabel to take the free courses in the center.

With the renewal of the partnership, which includes the participation of the Secretary of Economic Development, the number of vacancies offered to the municipality reaches 1,200. In an agreement signed in May 2023, another 800 vacancies were allocated to the city.
