Big Brands Like Ambev, Americanas, BP Bunge, Cargill, Suzano, and More Have Internship Openings for Inexperienced Professionals
The beginning of April has over 480 internship openings being offered by major companies across Brazil. Big brands like Suzano, Nestlé, Ambev, Cargill, BP Bunge, Votorantim, and others are hiring inexperienced professionals to fill positions in their internship programs. Locations vary, and various benefits are offered to selected candidates.
Even with Many Internship Offers, Data Shows That the Number of Opportunities Is Lower
A survey conducted by CIEE – Center for Integration of Companies and Schools showed that from January 2021 to February 2021, around 26,000 internship positions were open for inexperienced candidates. The internship offer rate is at the highest level since the start of the pandemic, but it is still 37.1% lower than in the first two months of 2020, when Covid-19 had not yet arrived in Brazil. NUBE – Brazilian Internship Center, indicated that compared to the 2020 period, the number of openings offered in January decreased by 8.5%, in February by 8%, and in March by 7%.
Mônica Vargas, who is the operations manager at CIEE, says that from December to January, there was an improvement in the internship market, but with the recent peak of Covid-19, companies began to retreat again. According to her, everything is following the economy’s indicators.
