The Program Aims to Train Young People and Adults Without Prior Experience, Focusing on Front-End and Back-End, and Offers Monthly Financial Assistance
The Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI) launched an innovative initiative called the Future Digital Scholarship Program, which offers a free course in programming, according to the website todahora. This program aims to train qualified programmers, empowering young people and adults who do not have prior knowledge in the field of information technology but are interested in developing skills in Front-End or Back-End. Have you considered starting a career in technology? This might be your chance!
Program Details
The expectation of the MCTI is to train 10,000 professionals in the next two years. In the first phase, 5,000 spots will be available in 12 states and the Federal District, prioritizing students from the public school system. After six months, an additional 5,000 spots will be opened. Applications for the program can be submitted until May 30, and classes are scheduled to start on June 23.
Participants in the course will receive monthly financial assistance to support them during the training. During the first six months, which consist of in-person and remote classes, students will receive a monthly scholarship of R$ 100 for the first three months, increasing to R$ 200 for the last three months. Do you think this financial support is sufficient to help students fully dedicate themselves to the course?

Programming Course Structure
After the initial six-month phase, there will be a technological residency of three months, during which standout students will have the opportunity to work with partner companies and solve real sector challenges. During this phase, financial assistance will be increased to R$ 600 per month. This practical experience is crucial as it allows students to apply what they have learned in real situations. Do you believe this hands-on experience can make a difference in the training of a programmer?
During the program launch, MCTI Minister Luciana Santos emphasized the importance of initiatives that seek to meet the high demand for technology professionals in Brazil. According to her, the inclusion of women in technology is a priority. “By not valuing female talent, the country loses the diversity of perspectives that enrich its scientific production. Promoting inclusion makes society a more diverse, balanced, and fair place,” she stated. Have you noticed the lack of diversity in technological fields? How can this be addressed?
The Demand for Technology Professionals in Brazil

Data from the Association of Information Technology and Communication Companies and Digital Technologies (Brasscom) indicates that Brazil graduates approximately 46,000 technology professionals annually, while the sector’s demand exceeds 70,000 new hires per year. This means there is a significant gap between the formation of new professionals and the market’s needs. The field of programming is one of the most promising and offers salaries that can be up to three times higher than the national average. Have you considered the possibility of pursuing a career in programming?
The Future Digital Scholarship Program has a projected budget of R$ 54.5 million, funded by the PPI of the Informatics Law. To participate in the program, interested individuals must meet certain requirements, including:

- Having completed high school or being about to complete it by the end of the course.
- Having studied entirely in a public school or having received a full scholarship in a private school.
