Reduction in Triton prices increases pressure on Hilux and Ranger in Brazil, repositions important versions of the mid-size pickup and combines lower price table, trade-in bonus, and field-oriented programs in an increasingly price-sensitive dispute.

Mitsubishi reduced the prices of the Triton in Brazil and positioned the mid-size pickup in a more aggressive range to compete for buyers with Toyota Hilux and Ford Ranger, two of the main references among diesel trucks in the country.

Effective since June 2026, the change led versions of the truck to start from R$ 249,990, according to data released by specialized portals and commercial information from the brand.

In the new table, higher volume versions, such as GLS and Tarmac, have taken on a strategic position within the line, especially for consumers who compare price, robustness, after-sales, and trade-in conditions before purchasing.

Triton becomes cheaper in competition with Hilux and Ranger

Among the cuts applied to the pickup, the highlight reaches R$ 31,000, according to a survey published by AutoPapo on Mitsubishi’s commercial restructuring in the Brazilian market.

Within the Triton line, values now start at R$ 249,990 in the GLS and Tarmac versions, while higher configurations remain in higher ranges, such as HPE, HPE-S, Katana, Savana, and Terra.

More than an isolated dealership promotion, the reduction was presented as part of a price review by Mitsubishi in the country, also impacting models like Eclipse Cross and Outlander PHEV.

According to AutoPapo, the new conditions became effective in the manufacturer’s 146 dealerships in Brazil starting from June 3, 2026, expanding the national reach of the strategy.

With the drop in prices, the Triton targets consumers researching a mid-size pickup for mixed use, including work, urban commuting, travel, and activities that require a cargo bed and diesel mechanical set.

In this audience, the comparison usually involves established rivals, mainly Hilux and Ranger, which maintain a strong presence among rural producers, companies, and buyers seeking mid-size trucks with a history of durability.

2.4 turbodiesel engine equips the Triton line

Mitsubishi Triton becomes up to R$ 31,000 cheaper and targets Hilux and Ranger with a 2.4 turbo diesel engine of 205 hp.
Mitsubishi Triton becomes up to R$ 31,000 cheaper and targets Hilux and Ranger with a 2.4 turbo diesel engine of 205 hp.

In the mechanical part, Mitsubishi keeps the Triton with the 2.4 turbo diesel engine of 205 hp and 47.9 kgfm of torque, a set used in all versions of the new generation of the pickup.

In the automatic configurations, the engine works with a six-speed automatic transmission, while the brand also offers versions with 4×4 traction, depending on the configuration chosen by the buyer.

According to Mitsubishi itself, the 2.4 Bi-Turbo Diesel engine delivers maximum power at 3,500 rpm and torque between 1,500 and 2,750 rpm, an important range for use with load and acceleration.

The technical sheet released by the manufacturer also reports a load capacity of up to 1,000 kg and a maximum towing capacity with brakes of up to 3,500 kg.

These numbers help sustain the Triton’s positioning for heavy work and off-road use, especially among consumers who need strength, a cargo bed, and traction for more demanding routines.

At the same time, the pricing strategy aims to reach those looking for a medium-sized pickup for family use, with a high driving position and versatile proposal, without giving up the diesel set.

GLS and Tarmac become entry points for the pickup

In the automatic GLS version, the price dropped from R$ 274,990 to R$ 249,990, according to information published by Motor1 about Mitsubishi’s new price list.

The Tarmac automatic, which previously appeared at R$ 264,990, also dropped to R$ 249,990, matching the entry price of the two options within the Triton line.

With a proposal more focused on urban use, the Tarmac occupies a specific role in the portfolio, while the GLS appears as an entry alternative with a more traditional profile among medium-sized pickups.

This division allows Mitsubishi to expand the commercial reach of the pickup without concentrating the competition only on the more expensive versions, which generally cater to buyers looking for more equipment.

In the higher configurations, the cuts were also significant and repositioned the line in price ranges closer to the direct competition in the medium pickup segment.

Motor1 reported that the HPE dropped from R$ 303,890 to R$ 275,990, while the HPE-S fell from R$ 330,790 to R$ 299,990.

Katana, Savana, and Terra also had reductions in the price list, with Terra maintained as the most expensive version of the line, now positioned at R$ 344,990.

Trade-in bonus enhances savings on the Mitsubishi Triton

In addition to direct price reductions, Mitsubishi has started offering bonuses to customers who trade in a used vehicle as part of the negotiation at the brand’s dealerships.

In the case of the Triton, incentives can reach up to R$ 32,000 on specific versions, especially when the used vehicle traded in is also a Mitsubishi and qualifies for the Mit Loyalty program.

Combined with the new pricing table, these bonuses can increase the total savings beyond the initially announced price cut, depending on the chosen version and negotiation conditions.

Motor1 pointed out that the combined reduction can reach R$ 59,790 on the HPE-S version, considering the new pricing table and the incentive for those trading in a used Mitsubishi.

Among automakers, this type of action usually accelerates sales without relying solely on the showroom price, as the effective value changes according to the used vehicle’s evaluation, region, and dealership.

For the consumer, therefore, the final price requires case-by-case simulation, because the chosen version, condition of the used vehicle, and local commercial policy can alter the savings obtained in the purchase.

Agribusiness gains focus in commercial strategy

In the field, Mitsubishi has also strengthened its approach to rural producers through the Mit Agro program, aimed at buyers who use pickups in production-related activities.

The brand’s official page states that producers with State Registration or Rural Producer Card have access to special offers for purchasing models from the manufacturer, including the New Triton 2027.

Another feature highlighted by Mitsubishi is the Mit Barter, a modality that allows negotiating vehicles through grain exchange, an alternative used in commercial operations related to agribusiness.

According to the proposal disclosed by the brand, the producer can use agricultural production as part of the purchase operation, reducing the need for direct disbursement in certain commercial scenarios.

With a lower price, trade-in bonuses, and programs aimed at agribusiness, the Triton seeks to gain ground in a segment where brand loyalty often weighs in the decision.

In the competition with Hilux and Ranger, Mitsubishi’s progress depends less on a single discount and more on a commercial package capable of influencing the final cost for the buyer.
