Continental AG Seeks Solutions to Enhance Durability and Efficiency of Tires for Vehicles in Port Regions in Brazil
The well-known German multinational Continental AG is now looking to expand its product catalog and serve vehicles operating in ports in Brazil and around the world, aiming to become a reference in the tire segment. The national transport sector stands to benefit from the new solutions developed by the company to increase the durability and efficiency of tires.
The ports of Brazil and the world are a key point for companies that manufacture and sell tires because many vehicles in operation rely on this essential gear to transport goods. Furthermore, the port reopening after the major Covid-19 pandemic is causing congestion in these locations, leading to the need for more efficient tires to optimize the time for transporting goods. Continental’s Tire Range Promises to Meet All Types of Port Vehicles That Require This Structure
One of the company’s latest creations was the radial tire model in 2019, and now, with its application in the port market, it has completed its range of products for the sector. This is because this tire model can support very high transport loads, ideal for work in port regions.
“This product expansion makes Continental unique as radial, polarizing, and solid tires can be supplied, allowing it to equip the entire fleet at the port. Our technical customer service is in close contact with fleet managers to ensure that the tires optimally fit the terminal vehicles’ applications, whether for pick & stack or load & carry needs.”

ContiConnect 2.0 System Used in the Multinational’s Radial Tires Increases Efficiency, Service Life, and Digital Monitoring by Companies
Continental AG has heavily invested in technology for its tire line and incorporated ex works sensors called ContiConnect 2.0. They allow companies to monitor material quality throughout its lifecycle, indicating the need for replacements or maintenance. This way, the sensor provides greater cost transparency and increases safety in all operations, being essential in port transportation.
“Terminal operators and fleet managers benefit from fewer breakdowns in vehicles, lower maintenance costs, and higher mileage.”

Through these sensors, Continental AG tire customers can perform predictive maintenance and continuous monitoring via Bluetooth devices. This makes it easier for managers to monitor the condition of all vehicles in the port fleet in real time. It is expected that this company’s technology will arrive in Brazil in the second half of 2022 and bring greater efficiency to the ports.
