Multinational Seeks Safety Coordinator, RSTC, in the Drilling Area with an Opening in Rio de Janeiro.

The multinational Archer Brazil is still looking for a RSTC (Rig Safety & Training Coordinator), since last month, to work in Rio de Janeiro. A great opportunity for those who speak English and want to join a foreign company.

For this position, you need to have:

  • Certificate in Occupational Safety Technician with registration in MTE;
  • CBSP and HUET certificates (desirable);
  • English – advanced level.

Experience:

  • At least 3 years of experience in Occupational Safety;
  • Experience in a Drilling company;
  • Experience in Auditing;
  • Experience in Accident Investigation;
  • Experience in offshore work (Offshore).

Main Responsibilities of the RSTC (not limited to):

  • Conduct and participate in meetings (safety, pre-shift, toolbox talks with clients) as necessary;
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of Archer’s procedures and safe offshore practices;
  • Assist and monitor the Safety Observation Cards related to Archer’s operations;
  • Conduct area inspections;
  • Assist in the incident investigation process;
  • Be present in the field during tasks perceived to have the potential to cause injuries/incidents;
  • Contact the Toolpusher when there are competing administrative tasks that could prevent the RSTC from being in the field;
  • Work closely with the Ops Planner/Toolpusher regarding upcoming operations;
  • Consult Synergi for lessons learned about upcoming operations to be reinforced;
  • Undertake initiatives to prevent the potential for dropped objects (PDO), as well as conduct regular inspections and report findings through the observation program;
  • The RSTC should motivate teams to constantly look for PDOs in their areas, continually address matters concerning TBTs and safety meetings through presentations to management and offshore crew, etc.
  • Conduct platform inductions for new Archer or third-party employees as necessary;
  • Provide support in the competence system on board the facility;
  • Participate in the audit process as necessary;
  • Fulfill the role of Emergency Response Team Leader, participating in training and conducting training with the emergency team;
  • Feed back to the client and Archer Systems regarding incidents;
  • The RSTC should support CIPA (Prevention Commission) meetings;
  • Update the Emergency Response Team list prior to crew change weekly or occasionally in the event of disembarkation;
  • Provide weekly follow-up of daily/monthly reports to the onshore team;
  • Assist the onshore QHSE team with general topics as necessary;
  • Participate in meetings with the onshore HSE team;
  • The RSTC may be requested to attend the safety technician onshore;
  • Any other reasonable tasks as delegated by the Supervisor.
