This version of the electric Kombi is more focused on customers traveling in small groups and also on car-sharing services. Electric Kombi Can Go from 0 to 100 Km/h in 5 Seconds
Despite the new details, the multinational Volkswagen has not confirmed what the technical specifications will be for the production version of the ID Buzz Kombi. It is worth noting that the concept had several configurations with two electric motors that allowed the vehicle to reach 374 horsepower.
Its system allows for acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5 seconds and a top speed of 160 km/h. In practice, it is also likely that Volkswagen will launch lower-powered versions based on the electric powertrains of other models in the ID family, with a power output between 110 and 150 kW, equivalent to 150 horsepower and 204 horsepower.
The batteries could exceed 110 kWh in the higher-powered version, providing the multinational’s Kombi with greater range. Although a launch is almost certain in Brazil, the future electric Kombi from Volkswagen does not yet have a projected date to arrive here, which will probably happen starting in 2024, the year in which the model will debut in the United States.
Curiosities About the New Kombi from the VW Multinational
You probably know the Kombi, but we have brought some curiosities about the model so loved by most Brazilians. Despite being German, the vehicle was conceived in the 1940s by Ben Pon, a Dutchman who aimed to use the mechanical set of the Beetle in a cargo vehicle.
However, the model only began production in the 1950s and at the time had a monocoque body and reinforced suspension with an engine of just 25 hp (very different from the future electric version).
In 1957 it arrived in Brazil, and three years later it gained a six-door version in the “luxury” configurations. To give you an idea, the Kombi is so beloved that it gained a day of celebration by enthusiasts, who designated September 2 as National Kombi Day, established by the Sampa Kombi Club of São Paulo.
