Compact Four-Door Model Offers Range of 205 Km and Consumption Equivalent to 82 Km/L, Redefining the Concept of Urban Vehicles

The Wuling Hongguang Mini EV, the new version of the popular electric car, is now available in China and promises to impress with its cost-effectiveness. With a starting price of 44,800 yuan, equivalent to R$ 36 thousand, this 3.25-meter long compact car is shorter than the Renault Kwid, which starts at R$ 77.3 thousand.

The new model has a range of 205 km and an electricity consumption equivalent to 82.6 km/l, making it an attractive option for consumers.

Improved Design and Safety

The new generation of the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV stands out not only for its price but also for its design and safety.

Compared to its predecessor, the new model offers better accommodations and a reinforced structure, with 67% of the body made of high-strength steel.

Moreover, it comes equipped with standard dual airbags and electronic stability control (ESC), enhancing the safety of the occupants.

Platform and Performance of the Electric Car

This electric car utilizes a new platform called Tyaniu S and has a battery pack developed by Wuling itself.

With a capacity of 16.2 kWh, the vehicle offers adequate range for urban use and takes just 35 minutes to recharge 80% of the battery.

The 30 kW motor provides satisfactory performance, accelerating from 0 to 50 km/h in just 4.9 seconds and a top speed limited to 100 km/h.

Connectivity and Comfort

The Wuling Hongguang Mini EV also features an app that allows users to monitor the vehicle’s status and control functions such as door locks, ignition, and air conditioning remotely.

The model includes an eight-inch infotainment screen that displays images from the parking sensor, providing more comfort and technology to users.

Inner Space and Practicality

Despite its compact dimensions, the electric car accommodates up to four occupants and offers a trunk with 123 liters of space, which can be expanded to 735 liters with the rear seats folded.

This versatility makes the miniEV a practical choice for urban daily demands.

Comparison of the Mini Electric Car with Motorcycles and the Market

The affordable price of the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV attracts attention, especially when compared to products like the Honda CG 160 Titan, which costs from R$ 19,520.

In addition, the car does not fit into the category of “xinguelingue”, a derogatory term associated with lower-quality Chinese vehicles from the past.

The miniEV is backed by reputable companies such as SAIC Motor and General Motors, ensuring its quality and reliability.

Final Considerations

With its innovative proposal and affordable price, the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV promises to redefine the concept of urban electric car.

Its modern construction, high efficiency, and safety features position it as a viable alternative in the growing electric vehicle market.

Although its arrival in Brazil is unlikely at the moment, the model is already making a significant impact in the Asian market, especially in the electric kei cars segment.
