600 Thousand Retirees And Pensioners Still Have Not Signed The Agreement To Receive The Refund Of Undue Deductions From INSS. Know How To Adhere And The Deadline To Challenge.

An important opportunity to receive back amounts from undue deductions is underway, but the INSS warns that more than 600 thousand retirees and pensioners eligible have not yet signed the reimbursement agreement

While most beneficiaries who have already joined the program will receive the money by today, August 18, a large number of people have yet to take the first step to ensure the return of the amounts.

To help insured individuals not miss the deadline, the agency details the rules and step-by-step for adherence.

Who Can Adhere To The INSS Agreement?

To be entitled to reimbursement, it is necessary to fit within the criteria established by the INSS

The agreement is directed towards:

  • Beneficiaries who challenged undue deductions and did not receive a response from the responsible entity within 15 business days.
  • Those who had undue deductions applied to their benefits between March 2020 and March 2025.
  • Beneficiaries with a pending lawsuit, provided they have not received the amounts. In these cases, adherence to the agreement requires withdrawing the legal action. The INSS will pay 5% in attorney’s fees for individual actions filed before April 23, 2025.

The measure aims to simplify the refund process and avoid judicialization, offering a quick administrative solution for beneficiaries.

It is a chance to resolve the issue quickly and securely, without the complications of a legal process.

How The Adhesion Process Works?

The process of adhering to the INSS agreement is simple and can be done entirely online. Follow the step-by-step:

  1. Challenge The Undue Deduction: This is the first step and can be done through the Meu INSS app, the Central Service 135 or at a post office. The challenge against undue deductions can be made until November 14, 2025.
  1. Wait For The Entity’s Response: After challenging, the entity responsible for the deduction has a period of up to 15 business days to respond.
  1. No Response? Option Available: If the entity does not respond within the deadline, the INSS system automatically releases the option for adherence to the agreement.
  1. Join The Agreement: The final step is to sign the agreement. Adherence can be done through the Meu INSS app or in person at the post offices.

To adhere through the Meu INSS app, the beneficiary must access the app with CPF and password, go to “Consult Requests” and then to “Meet Requirement.” Then, scroll to the last comment, select “Yes” in “I agree to receive” and click “Send.”

Security Alert And Importance Of Deadline

The INSS emphasizes a crucial alert: the beneficiary’s security is a priority.

The agency does not send links, SMS, or messages through chat apps requesting personal data.

Additionally, the INSS does not charge fees or request intermediaries for adherence to the agreement. The entire process is free and should be done exclusively through the agency’s official channels.

The deadline for contesting the deductions, which ends on November 14, 2025, is a golden opportunity for the 600 thousand retirees and pensioners who have not yet come forward.

With most payments from the first round being finalized, now is the time to ensure you do not lose your right to reimbursement.
