The Works Carried Out by Neoenergia Aim to Strengthen the Company’s Systems in the States of Bahia and RN
Neoenergia, the largest private group in the Brazilian electricity sector by number of customers, completed 12 projects for new substations and distribution lines in Bahia and 3 projects in Rio Grande do Norte. In 2020, the company invested around 3.3 billion reais in such works, of which 2 billion reais were used for network expansion.
Neoenergia Works at Cosern
The work at SE (substation) in Cosern – Companhia Energética do Rio Grande do Norte, will also benefit the populations in Tenente Ananias, Luís Gomes, Paraná, and José da Penha, in the Alto Oeste, a place of great economic importance for the region’s agriculture. The project is served by a transmission line with a voltage of 69 kV and a length of 4 kilometers, with four new feeders and a transformer with an installed capacity of 10 / 12.5 MVA.
Cosern also completed the expansion and improvement of the Eloi de Souza and Dom Marcolino substations, which, like the other 69 substations of the distributor, are equipped with high-tech automation equipment and can be operated and monitored online and remotely (COI) through Integrated Operation Center, in Natal, the capital of Rio Grande do Norte.

Neoenergia Works at Coelba
Coelba – Companhia de Eletricidade do Estado da Bahia, has completed the construction of ten substations: Anguera, Euclides da Cunha, Paripe, Ribeira do Pombal, Rio das Éguas, Rio do Meio, Rio Grande III, São Roque, and Teixeira de Freitas, and improved and expanded the 69 kV distribution lines.
