Arriving to be a major rival of the Jeep Compass, the new Nissan SUV – Nissan Qashqai is expected to be a big sales success. In the last month, it announced an investment of R$ 3 billion for Brazil. All of this to launch the second generation of the Kicks with a national turbo engine and its long-awaited new midsize SUV, a rival to the Compass.
New Nissan SUV Receives The Name Qashqai
As this car will be built on the CMF platform, shared with Renault, the model that perfectly meets these requirements is the new Nissan Qashqai, which is in its third generation in the European and US markets.
The Nissan Qashqai, an intermediate SUV in the international market, exceeds sales of the Jeep Compass, which stands out as the absolute leader in Brazil due to its high sales volume. The Qashqai features dimensions that give it a competitive advantage over the Compass. With a length of 4.43m, a wheelbase of 2.67m, a width of 1.89m, a height of 1.61m, and a weight of up to 1,425 kg, it stands out in its segment. Additionally, the trunk of the model has been expanded by 75 liters in the new generation, now reaching a total capacity of 504 liters.

The design of the new Nissan Qashqai has been updated to showcase a strong and sporty personality, with an aesthetically appealing visual style. The front of the vehicle features a grille with a black piano finish and an elegant chrome strip, as well as an air intake in the bumper and a full LED optical set.
On the sides, the model stands out with chrome trims on the windows, two-tone paint, and 20-inch wheels with a diamond finish. The rear of the vehicle, reminiscent of some Lexus models, includes an integrated spoiler, gray trim on the bumper, and Full LED taillights, completing the SUV’s sophisticated design.
New Nissan SUV Delivers 190 Horsepower
In terms of powertrains, the new model offers three different options. In the more affordable and intermediate versions, it includes a setup already offered in Brazil with some models from Renault. This consists of a 1.3 turbo with direct injection that overseas runs exclusively on gasoline. It generates up to 157 horsepower and 27.5 kgfm of torque, reaching 0 to 100 km/h in just 8.9 seconds. In this configuration, it can also be equipped with all-wheel drive.
In the higher-end versions of the new Nissan SUV, there is the E-Power hybrid system, which consists of a 1.5 turbo gasoline engine that serves only as a power generator, since the electric motor actually drives the car. It generates 190 horsepower and 33 kgfm of torque, with a CVT automatic transmission. With this powertrain, the model goes from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.1 seconds.
Robust Design And Cutting-Edge Technology
Moving to the interior, the new Nissan SUV has become much more refined and current in its third generation, and the finish has also improved significantly. The interior space has been enhanced due to the increase in wheelbase compared to the previous version.
The Compass rival comfortably accommodates 5 adults, and its equipment list is impressive, with highlights including a panoramic sunroof, premium sound system, display, electronic parking brake, autoroad, drive mode selector, among others.
The new multimedia center features a 9-inch screen and not only delivers all the current connections but also offers a 360º camera system and many others. In terms of safety, the vehicle includes lane departure warning, eight airbags, traction and stability control, collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, and much more.
