New Nissan Pickup Comes Lowered With V6 Engine Of 440 HP And Promises To Change The Automotive Market. Entitled Frontier Tarmac, The Model Arrives With An Impressive Look For Pickup Lovers.

Nissan Motorsports and driver Chris Forsberg transformed a Frontier into a stylishly lowered pickup. The fact is that the model, called the Nissan Frontier Tarmac Concept, will debut at the Sema Show (Specialty Equipment Market Association) in Las Vegas, USA, which will take place from November 5 to 8. In this article, we will learn about the new Nissan pickup.

New Medium Pickup Nissan Frontier Tarmac Delivers 440 HP Of Power

According to the sports division of the Japanese brand, the project for the new Nissan pickup began in 2021 and aimed to pay tribute to “muscle trucks” (pickups with a sporty appeal, powerful engines, size and performance) of the past, while also incorporating performance improvements to fit the “modern era.”

A highlight of the Nissan Frontier Tarmac is the 3.8 V6 engine that produces 440 hp of power and 55.2 kgfm of torque, carbon fiber throughout, and seats from the iconic Recaro brand.

On the medium pickup’s brakes, there are two calipers on the rear, one of which is connected to a custom handbrake for drifting, the body features carbon fiber throughout, including the rear door spoiler, hood cover, and ultra-wide fenders, which make the body 4 inches wider than a regular Frontier, the carbon fiber contrasts with the “Afterburn Orange” paint.

The Nissan Frontier Tarmac is equipped with custom 20-inch carbon fiber Nismo wheels, with Yokohama Advan 315/35 tires. Inside, there is a custom carbon fiber steering wheel and Recaro seats, which are covered with custom upholstery.

Main Attraction Of The New Nissan Pickup

According to Chris Forsberg, an icon in the racing world, having a high-performance pickup was really cool twenty years ago, but we rarely see lowered pickups these days.

Kevin Lutz from the Nissan Motorsports team mentioned that pickup owners like the Frontier love to customize their vehicles, and the goal was to meet that demand with a bold project.

One of the main attractions of the Nissan Frontier Tarmac is the custom suspension, which lowers the pickup for an impressive stance. Developed with semi-structural shock absorbers, the suspension is fully adjustable and features a flip kit with a C-notch at the rear. These modifications ensure that the Frontier not only looks like a performance pickup but also functions as one.

New Medium Pickup From Nissan Developed In Six Months

The development of the model took six months and involved close collaboration between Forsberg and the Nissan design team, which worked to ensure that each detail reflected the performance spirit of the model.

Hiren Patel, senior exterior design manager, praised the work done, stating that the new Nissan Frontier Tarmac is an atypical vision of the Frontier that captures the potential for modification and customization.

Forsberg’s passion for Nissan and performance dates back to 2003 when he bought a 350Z and got involved in racing with the Nissan Motorsports team. Since then, he has collaborated on several projects, including the Frontier Forsberg Edition, showing that his connection with the brand is deep and lasting.

With the new Nissan pickup, Forsberg aims to reignite interest in high-performance pickups, presenting younger drivers with the possibility of having a vehicle that combines fun and functionality. A pickup can be fast, fun, and still practical.
