Laticínios Porto Alegre installed its first factory in ES and intends to offer several job openings and opportunities for milk producers in the state. The unit has the capacity to process 250 liters of the product per day

The first dairy factory of the Porto Alegre company in Espírito Santo started its activities this Thursday (29) with the goal of expanding the products this year. The dairy factory located in the municipality of Rio Novo do Sul (ES) is already in operation and the forecast is that new jobs will emerge later this year.

In order to start production at the dairy unit, 100 job openings were created and most of the contractors are already working at the factory, which has the capacity to process 250 liters per day. Initially, the industry only produces long-life (UHT) milk.

According to João Lúcio Carneiro, CEO of the dairy industry, there are still some job openings to be filled and others will emerge this year, when cheese production at the factory opens.

According to the executive, job vacancies were opened in the operation, administration sector and those who are interested can register on the company's website or delivering a resume in person to the HR sector. When activities begin in the cheese sector, new jobs will also be generated at the factory and over time as the company expands, new opportunities will arise in ES.

Dairy industry generates opportunities for the people of Espírito Santo

The director also highlighted that of all job openings offered so far, most were offered to the ES community. According to the executive, the company trained the team in loco and only two or three are not from the state.

The rest are residents of Rio Novo or region, trained and trained on site. In addition to generating direct job openings, the arrival of the dairy factory also generates income for milk producers who are free to sell their milk to Porto Alegre.

Currently, Laticínios Porto Alegre has a milk collection network that has 400 producers, who supply around 100 liters of the product per day. The director claims that he already has producers supplying milk to the company, which he is encouraging to increase production. For now, the company has producers from the south of ES, however there are chances of buying producers from the north of the state.

Investment of BRL 60 million

The investment for the inauguration of this first phase of the unit in ES was R$ 60 million and it will have 9 thousand m² of built area. The factory will also function as a distribution point for all the brand's products to the region and will have a store with products direct from the factory.

Currently, the company already has five industrial units, one in ES, another in Rio de Janeiro and three more in Minas Gerais. Carneiro says that Porto Alegre is completing its 30 years in 2021 and the project was a dream of the company, which wanted a unit in Espírito Santo.

It was a job alongside the city hall and the local government. The director says that his goal is to boost milk production in this region, which is one of the most important economic activities for the state.
