New Kia Tasman Pickup Will Arrive in the Automotive Market Soon. The Model, Equipped with a 2.2 Diesel Engine, Will Compete with the Toyota Hilux.
The first pickup in Kia’s history now has a debut date. The production of the Kia Tasman pickup begins at the end of this year for a launch in early 2025. Competing with the Toyota Hilux and Ford Ranger, the model, which features a 2.2 diesel engine, has already been spotted testing in South Korea and Sweden on several occasions. It also appears in silhouette form on the manufacturer’s website configurator in Australia, where sales of the truck have already been confirmed.
It is worth mentioning that it was in Australia that the South Korean brand released a teaser about the upcoming launch, in which legends of Australian sports talk about the arrival of the pickup. And, although the name has not been confirmed, various easter eggs appear in the advertisement, indicating that the name of the model with the 2.2 diesel engine will indeed be Tasman.
For now, no clearer images of the Hilux rival have been released, but sketches anticipate the design path that Kia should take. Using the information available so far, designer Theottle created a projection for the Kia Tasman pickup for the Drive website ahead of its presentation in the coming months.

Harley-Davidson created an entry-level motorcycle that seems impossible for those who only know the brand’s big bikes: the X440 uses a 440 cc single-cylinder engine, delivers 27 hp, 38 Nm, a declared fuel consumption of 35 km/l, and showcases a small, rational, and much more accessible Harley in India.

Mitsubishi confirms the triumphant return of a car beloved by Brazilians that was discontinued after almost 40 years, based on the Triton, 4×4, and targets rival Toyota Land Cruiser in a plan of 13 SUVs.
Some details that can be seen under the camouflage are noted in the projection, such as the square front, vertical headlights, robust grille, multiple creases on the hood, square wheel arches, and a roll bar at the back. One of the highlights of the image, in fact, is the significant ground clearance. However, it is still early to confirm the pickup’s lines.
New Kia Tasman Pickup Will Feature a 2.2 Diesel Engine and 45.5 kgfm
Only a few details have been released by company executives in interviews. The Tasman is expected to initially have a diesel engine – the bet is on the 2.2 diesel engine with 200 horsepower and 45.5 kgfm of torque from the Sorento and Hyundai Santa Fe, and later gain an electric version in one or two years. The load capacity of the Toyota Hilux rival will be 1 ton in the bed and 3.5 tons for towing.
In the cabin, the South Korean brand also keeps information secret. However, it is not expected to stray too far from other models in its own lineup. Thus, it may feature an integrated multimedia center and instrument panel. Additionally, images also show ample space in the back of the new Kia Tasman double cab pickup.
There is still a lot of secrecy surrounding the new Kia Tasman pickup, but Brazil might be in the launch plans. This is because the South Korean idea is to have a global model, designed for all potential markets. As the pickup segment is very heated, with recent debuts and models still to come, it would not be a surprise for the pickup to arrive here to rival the Toyota Hilux.
Kia Will Bring New SUV SORENTO to the Automotive Market
In February, Kia presented the mid-life facelift of the new Sorento SUV in the US. The model, which is sold in diesel hybrid, gasoline, and plug-in hybrid versions, receives a makeover on the front end and, above all, a radical change in the interior with a completely new dashboard.
The first noticeable difference in the new Kia Sorento SUV is a certain influence from the electric EV9 SUV. Thus, it incorporates T-shaped daytime running lights, and the air intakes on the bumper follow a design similar to the new vertical LED headlights.
