A Unique Opportunity for Those Looking to Work in Teacher Training and Receive a Monthly Scholarship, with Open Selection Process, No Application Fee, at One of the Largest Universities in Brazil.

The Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) has opened applications for the selection of on-site tutors for the Specialization Course in Literacy and Reading, offering a monthly scholarship of R$ 1,100.00 with no application fee.

With six vacancies available and a reserve list, the selection process is an opportunity for education professionals who wish to work directly in teacher training, with applications open until May 21, 2025.

The role of on-site tutor involves monitoring and mediating educational activities, assisting the teacher during classes, supporting students in the Virtual Learning Environment (AVA), and participating in training meetings.

This position requires a weekly commitment of 20 hours, allowing for essential practical experience for the pedagogical development of those involved.

Requirements and Selection

Candidates must have a degree in Pedagogy or Teaching, preferably with experience in basic education, which will be considered a differential in the selection process.

The selection will be based on document analysis, evaluating academic education and professional experience, requiring a minimum score of 60 points for approval.

In addition to open competition, the announcement provides for reserved vacancies for blacks, browns, indigenous people, and persons with disabilities, reinforcing UFMG’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.

The preliminary result of the selection is expected to be announced on June 3, 2025, with a deadline for appeals until June 8.

Benefits and Impact

This initiative from UFMG stands out for offering a scholarship in accordance with CAPES Ordinance No. 309, of September 27, 2024, recognizing the importance of valuing professionals involved in the continued education of teachers.

In addition to the financial benefit, the position offers the opportunity to work at one of the country’s most renowned universities, adding value to the resume and expanding professional networking.

Investing in the qualification of tutors and teachers is essential for improving literacy and reading in Brazil, challenges still present according to recent data from the National Institute of Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira (Inep).

Programs like UFMG’s directly contribute to raising the quality of basic education, aiding the country’s educational development.

The flexible workload of 20 hours per week allows tutors to balance this activity with other responsibilities, whether in the school environment or in other areas of education.

This balance is crucial to ensure the dedication and commitment necessary for the success of the course.

How to Apply

For those who wish to participate, the application process is simple and completely free.

Applications must be made exclusively via electronic form on the UFMG website, between May 7 and 21, 2025, until 11:59 PM.

There is no fee, making this selection even more accessible for interested professionals.

This UFMG program is more than just a simple job opportunity.

It is a chance to contribute to the transformation of education in Brazil, preparing teachers and raising the level of education for future generations.
