The Government of Minas Gerais Launched New Public Competition Notices Offering 3,686 Vacancies for Civil Police, Military Police, and Firefighters
Minas Gerais started the season of competitions in the field of public security, providing 3,686 vacancies in various positions, including soldiers, officers, delegates, experts, and investigators. These opportunities are distributed among the Civil Police, Military Police, and the Fire Department.
Interested candidates applying for these positions must hold a higher education degree in the areas specified in the notices of each competition. The starting salaries for successful applicants can reach up to R$ 14,931.31. Below, we present the details of each selection:
Military Police Competition of Minas Gerais (PM MG)
The Military Police of Minas Gerais has 3,102 open vacancies for the position of soldier, intended for both sexes. Interested individuals can register through the Recruitment and Selection Center website of the Military Police of Minas Gerais, with an application fee of R$ 101.

Both sexes can apply, provided they hold a complete higher education degree in any field, are between 18 and 30 years old, are Brazilian citizens, and are up to date with their electoral and military obligations.
Additionally, candidates must possess a National Driver’s License (CNH) with a minimum category of B and a minimum height of 1.60m. Those who pass the competition will initially receive a salary of R$ 4,360.83 during the training course. Upon completion, the salary for soldier PM MG will be R$ 5,097.11.
Civil Police Competition of Minas Gerais (PC MG)
The Civil Police of Minas Gerais has opened a public competition offering 255 vacancies for different careers:
- Delegate: 54 vacancies
- Medical Examiner: 10 vacancies
- Experts: 26 vacancies (15 vacancies for Area I and 8 vacancies for Area II)
- Investigator: 165 vacancies
Successful applicants in this competition will be entitled to salaries ranging from R$ 5,332.62 (for investigators), R$ 11,547.07 (for medical examiners and forensic experts), and R$ 14,931.31 (for delegates).
To apply for one of the vacancies, it is necessary to have a higher education degree, as specified below:
- Delegate: degree in Law, plus a minimum of three years of legal or police experience;
- Investigator: degree in any area of higher education;
- Medical Examiner: degree in Medicine;
- Expert (Area I): degree in Biology, Biomedicine, Biochemistry, Accounting, Economics, Engineering (various specialties), Pharmacy, Physics, Speech Therapy, Geography, Mathematics, Veterinary Medicine, Dentistry, or Chemistry;
- Expert (Area II): degree in areas such as Systems Analysis, Computer Science, Control and Automation Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, among others.
Applications for the competition will be open until November 19, 2024, through the FGV website. The application fee is R$ 220 for the positions of medical examiner and delegate, R$ 105 for experts, and R$ 85 for the investigator position. Fire Department Competition of Minas Gerais
The Fire Department of Minas Gerais has 329 open vacancies, distributed across the following careers:
- Officer Cadet: 21 vacancies;
- Combat Soldier: 303 vacancies;
- Health Officer – Nursing: 2 vacancies;
- Health Officer – Psychology: 3 vacancies.
To compete for one of these vacancies, candidates must have a complete higher education degree, be between 18 and 35 years old, and have a minimum height of 1.63m for men and 1.60m for women.
Those who pass the competition will receive an initial salary of R$ 7,175.30, which can reach R$ 11,037.15.
