The operation of the WINBOT depends on a high-pressure suction system that keeps the device adhered to the glass while it moves vertically.
Ecovacs states that the model uses suction of up to 5,500 Pa, sufficient force to keep the equipment attached during movement over smooth vertical surfaces.
This allows the robot to work on high windows, large glass panels, shower boxes, and modern facades used in apartments and commercial buildings.
The device also uses a microfiber cloth combined with automatic liquid spraying to remove dust, marks, and accumulated dirt.
Robot creates automatic cleaning route using WIN-SLAM 4.0 system
The WINBOT W2 OMNI uses a system called WIN-SLAM 4.0, developed to automatically map the glass surface and calculate the ideal cleaning path.
According to Ecovacs, the system can identify edges, frames, and window boundaries in real-time, preventing the robot from leaving the safe area during operation.
In practice, the device does not simply move up and down the glass randomly. It calculates specific movement patterns to cover the largest possible area efficiently.
The company claims that the algorithm improves coverage and reduces failures compared to previous generations.
Automatic spraying system helps remove accumulated dirt
The WINBOT W2 OMNI features automatic liquid cleaning spray during operation. According to Ecovacs, the system uses wide-angle spray nozzles to distribute water or cleaning solution over the glass while the microfiber cloth polishes the surface.
This allows for the removal of fine dust, fingerprints, light grease, and common dirt accumulated on windows and urban facades.
The goal is to bring the robot’s operation closer to traditional manual cleaning, but without requiring the user to hold a squeegee, cloth, or ladder.
Robot uses 12 layers of protection to prevent falls
The most critical point in window-cleaning robots has always been safety. To address this, Ecovacs states that the WINBOT W2 OMNI uses a system with 12 levels of fall protection.
