Elon Musk’s AI startup xAI receives strategic investment and prepares to challenge OpenAI on the global AI stage
A XAI, AI startup founded by Elon Musk, has just taken another important step in its journey to face the OpenAI, the company responsible for Chat GPT. The company announced that managed to raise US$6 billion in a new round of financing from Series C, an advanced stage of investment for companies that are already well established. The round was attended by big names in the financial sector, such as A16Z, BlackRock, Fidelity Management & Research Company, Sequoia Capital, among others, according to the website Seu Dinheiro.

Investment in AI startup, xAI, was not limited to traditional funds. In addition to large investment companies, Nvidia e AMD, two tech giants, were also key players in the funding round. xAI revealed in a statement that these companies are collaborating to help expand their infrastructure, essential for the startup's rapid growth.
It capital injection comes at a crucial time for the company, when ELon Musk is in an arms race of IA against a OpenAI, manufacturer of Chat GPT, which he co-founded and is now run by Sam altman.
