When Completed, the Work at the Port of Açu in Rio de Janeiro Will Be the Largest in the World in Logistics Activities, and It Is Already Providing Various Jobs in the Area
The works of the Aliseo logistics base, at the Port of Açu, located in São João da Barra, in the north of Rio de Janeiro, are already 80% completed and will soon start operations as the largest logistics center in the world, according to the website O Dia.
The work at the Port of Açu has already created over 1,600 job opportunities for residents of the Rio de Janeiro region, comprising about 650 direct job openings and 1,000 indirect job opportunities. 58% of these job openings have been filled by local residents. The work at the Port of Açu occupies a total area of 160m² and has a privileged position in the northern part of the state.
Even though Rio de Janeiro has undergone a political, institutional, and moral crisis, which consequently deterred investments, the current reality is different. Today, the state is receiving various investment proposals across multiple sectors, and over the past two years, the government has approved around 27 incentive projects for the development of the state and various job opportunities, including those generated by the Port of Açu.
