The Friend of Women Company Seal awards entities that implement initiatives and advocate for women’s rights in the state of Rio de Janeiro, promoting gender equity in their professional environments every year.

The award evaluates a series of criteria, encompassing 12 distinct requirements. These include creating a healthy work environment that ensures physical and emotional integrity while preserving the dignity of women. By considering these factors, Ocyan distinguishes itself as the only oil and gas company to receive this distinction in the current edition, further reinforcing its position of leadership and innovation regarding diversity and inclusion promotion. To celebrate this achievement, the award ceremony will take place next Monday, March 31, in Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro.

Celebration of International Women’s Day and Racial Inclusion

Important personalities will be present at the ceremony, including Governor Cláudio Castro, as well as the State Secretary of Women, Heloisa Aguiar, and the State Secretary of Economic Development, Industry, Commerce and Services, Fernanda Curdi. These figures play a crucial role in implementing the gender equity seal and promoting public policies that favor the expansion of women’s rights. March is a significant month, also for celebrating International Women’s Day, making this milestone doubly special for Ocyan.

Additionally, Ocyan was recognized by the Race Is Priority Movement during the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination celebrations on March 21. This movement, established by the UN Global Compact in Brazil, seeks to promote racial inclusion within companies. Launched in 2022, the initiative has the ambitious goal of motivating 1,000 companies to increase the representation of black people in leadership positions to 50% by 2030. Ocyan already shows significant progress, with 36% of black individuals occupying these prominent positions in its organization.
