Company Continues Among the Top 100 of Open Corps 2023
On National Innovation Day (10/19), Ocyan celebrates the achievement of 2nd place in the 100 Open Startups 2023 award in the Oil & Gas category. This is the third consecutive year that the company has been recognized by the award and listed in the Top 3 of its operating segment. The initiative recognizes the corporations that have practiced open innovation with startups in the country and Latin America the most. The company’s actions over the past year led it to be included in the list of the top 100 – the Top 100.
“It is a great satisfaction to receive this award for the third consecutive year, which demonstrates our expertise in the work that Ocyan has been doing with startups, regardless of their maturity level. Celebrating this achievement reinforces our commitment to innovation and keeps us on the path of expanding projects with startups. Our journey is just beginning,” highlights Patrícia Grabowsky, Executive Manager of Innovation and Digital Transformation.
Ocyan started its relationship with startups in 2019 through the Ocyan Waves program and has since shown constant evolution, increasing value creation for both the company and the startups. This year, the company launched the second edition of Waves Booster, an acceleration program aimed at empowering startups through executive mentoring and pilot projects. After six months of acceleration, the startups will be able to form strategic partnerships or be invested in by Ocyan.

Currently, the Ocyan Waves programs – the Booster, for startup acceleration, and the Challenge, a matchmaking program with startups – have already mapped over 400 startups, and from this contact, 26 pilot projects were launched and 20 contracts finalized.
“This year, with the creation of the New Energies and Services business unit at Ocyan, the trend is to have an increasingly strategic relationship with startups. This award reflects our commitment to the innovation ecosystem and the value generation for startups and our stakeholders,” celebrates Rodrigo Lemos, Executive Vice President of New Energies and Services at Ocyan, who was present at the award event held at the Copacabana Palace in Rio de Janeiro.
