An Owner Customized His Tesla Cybertruck With A Luxury Gold Finish, Spending A Fortune In The Process, Only To Sell It Months Later.
The Tesla Cybertruck has become a game changer in the automotive world. Since its reveal in 2019 by Elon Musk himself in Los Angeles, the vehicle’s polarizing design has caught everyone’s attention. Either you love it or you hate it, there’s no middle ground in this case.
A YouTuber wanted a Tesla that would attract a lot of attention. To achieve that, he spent a fortune on a major customization.
However, the personalization of the vehicle went beyond the conventional; the result was so good that influencer Zack Nelson, from the channel JerryRigEverything on YouTube, decided to turn it into a true social media success.

The Golden Transformation
The vehicle acquired by Nelson in February 2024 came with the Foundation Series version. With a simplistic black and white interior and an unchanging stainless steel body, the Cybertruck looked like any ordinary car, but Nelson had other plans.
His idea was not just to customize but to elevate the model to another level, turning it into a true jewel on wheels.
To achieve this, he opted for a 24-karat gold coating, mixed with cobalt, applying it carefully with a platinum-titanium brush.
The result was an appearance that, according to him, made the Cybertruck look like a “million dollars”. The modification, which involved a refined technique, cost an impressive US$ 60,000, in addition to the vehicle’s initial price. It’s worth noting that the Foundation Series version already retailed for around US$ 100,000.
Beyond aesthetics, the Cybertruck maintains its performance characteristics that turn heads.
With a dual motor generating 600 horsepower, the vehicle accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds. It can also reach a top speed of 130 mph and has a range of 340 miles (approximately 550 km), thanks to a 123 kWh battery pack.

The Configuration and Modifications
In addition to the gold coating, the Cybertruck underwent other modifications, such as ceramic tinted windows and custom decals on the sides and rear, with the words “Ridge” and “24K Gold” emblazoned.
The model also features 20-inch wheels, 35-inch tires, and a drive-by-wire system on all four wheels. The interior is comfortable, with heated and ventilated seats and touchscreens, including an 18.5-inch center display.
However, not everything is perfect. The model suffered some damages, such as scratches and dents on the side, attributed to the protective film that didn’t perform as expected. There were also some issues with the driver’s door, which needed temporary repairs. It’s worth noting that the Cybertruck has already undergone some recalls since its launch.

The Future of The Golden Cybertruck
Now, the gold-plated Cybertruck is being auctioned on an online platform called Cars and Bids. Zack Nelson’s original goal was for the proceeds from the auction to go to a noble cause, and that will be the case. The total amount will be donated to the Not A Wheelchair Foundation, a charity organization.
Interestingly, the auction began with a bid of US$ 91,599, despite the used Cybertruck market being in decline.
However, the fact that this model is gold-plated definitely sets the vehicle apart from others listed, and the final sale price is expected to be significantly higher, around US$ 160,000. This would cover all the costs of purchasing and customizing the car.
The sale includes, in addition to the Cybertruck, two key cards, all-weather mats, and even a cracked iPhone 10, which was included as part of the package. The CEO of Ridge, responsible for the customization, explained that the iPhone would be transferred to the new owner of the Cybertruck, along with the ownership of the vehicle.
A Surprising Ending
The future of the golden Cybertruck seems to be on track, with a noble end. Although it has generated a lot of buzz on the internet and the automotive market, what stands out the most is the destination of the raised funds: a true demonstration that behind all this ostentation, there is a desire to contribute to a greater cause.
As the auction approaches its end, interest in this unique Cybertruck appears to continue growing.

O mais legal disso tudo é que por vezes os participantes do leilão nem tem tanto interesse no objeto em si, mas sim na causa. Uma demonstração dupla de que nem tudo está perdido!
