CerradinhoBio Will Make Billion-Dollar Investment in New Corn Ethanol Plant in Mato Grosso do Sul
CerradinhoBio will invest R$ 1.4 billion for the construction and working capital of the first phase of the new corn ethanol plant of Neomille (a subsidiary of CerradinhoBio), which will be located in Maracaju, in Mato Grosso do Sul (MS). The investment has already been approved by the company’s Board of Directors. The new headquarters will be built in two stages.

When fully operational, it will be able to process up to 1.2 million tons of corn annually, resulting in 550 million liters of ethanol, 330 thousand tons of DDGS (Dried Distillers Grains with Solubles), 105 GWh of energy, and 22 thousand tons of oil.
The construction of the first phase of the new plant will start in March 2022, right after completing the Installation License. Production is expected to begin in the second half of 2023. A total of 1,500 jobs will be created during the construction period, and 150 permanent jobs once the industry is operational.

Performance and Production
“The excellent performance at the two units in operation has yielded consistent results in recent harvests, and this strengthens our expansion agenda and gives us the tranquility and security needed for this important step”, stated the company’s director Paulo Motta. Maracaju is the highest corn producer in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul and has favorable conditions for the purchase of biomass and the marketing of co-products.
CerradinhoBio operates in the biofuels and bioelectricity sector; it has an industrial unit in the city of Chapadão do Céu (GO). Considering the sugarcane and corn plants, CerradinhoBio has a milling capacity equivalent to 9 million tons of sugarcane, in addition to generating 3,800 direct and indirect jobs.
In the municipality next to Chapadão do Sul – MS, CerradinhoBio operates an active railway line for transporting goods to export its own and third-party ethanol production to the surrounding area of Paulínia, in São Paulo, the main distribution location for fuel in Brazil. It belongs to the Cerradinho group, which has over 40 years of experience in the sugar-energy sector.
