The desire to live outside of the country has intensified in recent years, especially among Brazilians.

With a growing demand for safe and affordable destinations, it’s no surprise that many young people are dreaming of living elsewhere.

A survey of the RealTime Big Data reveals that 67% of young people between 16 and 35 years would consider leaving Brazil if they had the opportunity.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs points out that the number of Brazilians living abroad has grown. 47% in the last decade.

In response to this demand, the Global Retirement Index da International living gained prominence, offering a list of the best countries to live well and at an affordable cost.

The 2025 was brought forward due to the growing interest in information about these destinations, according to the website escolaeducação.

Report methodology and criteria

The index evaluates countries based on seven categories: housing, visa and benefits, cost of living, healthcare, development and governance, climate and cultural layer.

These criteria help to understand the affordability of housing, the quality of the healthcare system and the ease of integration into the local community, also considering visa programs that offer benefits to expatriates.

Expanding the target audience

While the report's traditional focus is on reforms, a growing number of professionals among 35 and 45 years are looking for new experiences in Exterior.

Remote work and flexible hours have opened doors for these young people to explore new horizons.
