In February 2024, Brent oil fell 3.6%, impacting existing contracts and transport costs.
Petrobras announced that starting this Thursday (1st), there will be an average decrease of 2% in the selling prices of natural gas, according to the contracts established by the company with the distributors. This reduction was communicated through an official statement from the company.
Furthermore, in January 2024, several new agreements from Petrobras’ latest product portfolio took effect, and from the competitive processes of the distributors, Petrobras emphasized.
The portfolio provided the opportunity for contract celebrations with different terms (5 years, 7 years, 9 years, and 11 years) and selection by the distributors regarding the inclusion of outbound transportation in the contracts, the company noted.

Reduction in Natural Gas Prices
Petrobras clients with agreed contracts in 2023 noticed an accumulated reduction of 22.2% in the price of natural gas throughout the year, Petrobras stated.
The final price of natural gas to the consumer is not determined solely by the selling price of the molecule by the company, but also by the transportation cost to the distributor, by each distributor’s supply portfolio, as well as their margins and federal and state taxes.
