Internal Discussions Signal Possible Return to State Control

In a move that has generated anticipation among workers in the oil sector, Petrobras has begun internal discussions about the possibility of re-nationalizing the Landulpho Alves refinery (Rlam), located in Bahia. This dialogue, still in preliminary stages, reflects the company’s engagement in revisiting its business strategies, especially regarding the control of its refining operations.

Open Dialogue with Oil Workers’ Representatives

The initiative to review control of Rlam, now known as Refinaria de Mataripe under the management of the Arab fund Mubadala, was officially communicated to the Unique Federation of Oil Workers (FUP) and the affiliated unions. Petrobras, through a document, promised to keep employee representatives informed and involved in the discussions, respecting previously established commitments regarding the return of employees who had been transferred after the privatization of the refinery.

Strategic Meeting for Re-nationalization Discussion

The meeting that triggered the announcement involved important figures from both FUP and Petrobras, including the coordinator of Sindipetro-BA, Elizabete Sacramento, and the executive manager of Refining at Petrobras, Marcos Jeber, among others. This meeting served as a forum to outline the current stage of negotiations and the possible impacts of re-nationalization on the daily lives of the workers involved, both those transferred and the current employees of Acelen.
