Brazilian State Oil and Gas Giant Partners with Malaysian Company for Six Multifunctional Pipe-Laying Support Vessels.
The Brazilian state oil and gas giant, Petrobras, signed contracts totaling US$ 1.8 billion with the Malaysian company Sapura Energy for the construction of six multifunctional vessels for pipe laying (PLSVs), according to the Offshore Energy website.
The Petrobras vessels will be used for subsea engineering services, installation, and other related services in Brazilian waters. They will be capable of performing a wide range of operations, such as the installation of flexible pipes, electro-hydraulic umbilicals, power cables, among others, at depths of up to 3,000 meters.

Contracts Closed by Petrobras Have a Duration of 3 Months
The contracts last for three years, starting on different mobilization dates, with the longest contract valid until 2028. Sapura Energy expects these contracts to positively contribute to its profits for the fiscal year ending January 31, 2025, and in the following years.
