The Petrobras Carioca FPSO Will Be Installed in the Sépia Field, in the Santos Basin. The Unit Is Still Under Construction by the Japanese Modec
Last week, Petrobras requested the Operating License for the Sépia Production Development and Flow Project from the Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (Ibama), which will be carried out through the Carioca FPSO. Coincidence or not, Modec is recruiting for offshore and onshore positions in RJ, SP, and for a project under construction; mobilization availability for the shipyard in China is necessary

When completed, the “Carioca MV30” FPSO will have the capacity to process 180,000 barrels of crude oil per day (bpd) and 212 million cubic meters of gas per day. The storage capacity of the unit is 1.4 million barrels of crude oil.
The FPSO will be deployed in the Sépia field, operated by Petrobras, located in the vast pre-salt region of the Santos Basin about 250 kilometers off the coast of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in water depths of approximately 2,200 meters.
The FPSO will be able to process 180,000 barrels of crude oil per day, 6 million m³/day of natural gas and has a storage capacity of 1,400,000 barrels of crude oil.
This is the 13th FPSO/FSO that MODEC will supply in Brazil, as well as the 6th FPSO from MODEC in the “pre-salt” after the FPSO Cidade de Angra dos Reis MV22, FPSO Cidade de São Paulo MV23, FPSO Cidade de Mangaratiba MV24, FPSO Cidade de Itaguaí MV26, and the FPSO Cidade de Caraguatatuba MV27 which achieved First Oil Production in December 2016.
In the latest update made by Petrobras on the progress of the FPSO construction, the state-owned company said that the works were more than 88% physically advanced. The ship is expected to enter operation next year. The project includes the interconnection of up to 15 wells to the platform.
