Petrobras Program Offers Free Qualification with Monthly Stipend for Low-Income Residents in Areas Near State-Owned Units, in Partnership with Federal Institutes and SENAI, Focusing on Technical Training and Expanding Opportunities in the Industrial Sector.
Petrobras has launched the Autonomy and Income Program to offer free qualification and technical training courses, with a monthly financial aid, aimed at low-income individuals without formal employment, in different regions of the country.
The initiative is carried out in partnership with Federal Institutes of Education, Science and Technology and units of the SENAI system, prioritizing residents of communities located in the areas covered by the company’s operations, according to the rules of each announcement.
In addition to preparing students for functions demanded by industrial maintenance and construction, the program attempts to reduce barriers to staying in the classroom through a monthly stipend of R$ 660, an amount mentioned as a reference in public calls for the project.

In some announcements, however, the benefit may be greater for women with children up to 11 years old, and there are also cases where the program provides a monthly food card, making it important to read the document of the chosen unit carefully.
Who Can Participate in the Autonomy and Income Program
The target audience indicated by Petrobras consists of people in a situation of social vulnerability, without formal employment and with a family income of up to half of the minimum wage per person, with additional criteria that may vary according to the campus and the course.
Meanwhile, some public calls establish a different minimum education level depending on the intended training, as technical courses may require a complete high school education, while initial qualifications accept candidates with a primary education level.
It is also common for announcements to adopt affirmative actions and priority criteria, including women, people with disabilities, black and mixed-race individuals, indigenous people, quilombolas, transgender individuals, and refugees, in addition to residents of the surrounding areas of the served units.

The program includes short-term professional qualification courses, known as Initial and Continuing Education, as well as technical courses, focusing on occupations related to assembly, inspection, maintenance, and industrial routines, according to local offerings.

Insertion into the Job Market After Training
After completing their training, participants usually receive guidance to register in public job placement systems, such as state and municipal employment channels, a path cited as part of the strategy for transitioning to the market.
Petrobras, on the other hand, states that it encourages supplying companies to disclose opportunities in these same systems, in order to bring the demand for labor closer to the trained individuals, without promising automatic hiring.
How to Register for the Autonomy and Income Program
Registrations are free and, according to the program announcements, must be made exclusively on the Autonomy and Income platform, where the announcements are also available, and the candidate can filter classes using the “Display Courses with Open Enrollments” option.
