Flights Will Depart from the Newly Renovated Macaé Airport and Contract Involves Workforce Transportation and Air Medical Coverage for Frade Field in the Campos Basin
The Brazilian oil company PetroRio has signed a contract with Omni Taxi Aéreo for the transportation of teams conducting operations at the Frade field in the Campos Basin.
Omni Taxi Aéreo will take off from the Macaé Airport, in the northern state of Rio de Janeiro, which was recently included in the southeastern block of concessions by ANAC and acquired by Swiss Zurich Airport.
This is not Omni’s first contract with PetroRio; the air taxi company already provides services to the oil company at the Polvo field, also in the Campos Basin.

Omni will use S76C++ aircraft with a capacity for 12 passengers for team transportation and air medical rescues, in addition to aircraft for possible cargo transport.
The director of Omni, Roberto Coimbra, highlighted the partnership and the fact that they have been awarded another contract with PetroRio due to the high level of quality in the services provided at the Polvo field and celebrated the exclusivity in PetroRio’s offshore flights.
The Macaé Airport
The Macaé Airport remains the departure point for offshore activities in the Campos Basin and confirms what the Swiss at Zurich Airport thought regarding the increase in operations at the terminal when the oil and gas market heats up.
It is worth noting that Zurich Airport’s offer was R$ 437 million, exceeding the federal government’s expectation by R$ 2 million, and the southeastern block, which included the airports of Vitória in Espírito Santo and Macaé in Rio de Janeiro, was acquired.
