See Who Is Entitled to Salary Allowance of PIS/PASEP in April. Benefit Can Reach Up to a Minimum Wage According to Time Worked and Income
The PIS/PASEP salary allowance 2025 has already started being paid. The benefit, which reaches millions of workers across Brazil, is an important relief for those earning up to two minimum wages.
With payments organized throughout the year, the program follows clear eligibility criteria and amounts proportional to the length of service. See what is required to receive the salary allowance, how to check it, and when the money will be available.
What Is the PIS/PASEP Allowance
The PIS/PASEP salary allowance is an annual benefit. It is guaranteed by law and paid with resources from the Worker Support Fund (FAT). This fund also finances programs such as unemployment insurance and professional training actions.

For the economist José Kobori, the USA gained a trump card to “blackmail” Brazil and undermine China’s influence by classifying the PCC and Comando Vermelho as terrorists, increasing the power to pressure companies, banks, and even Pix.

The labor shortage has changed its face in Brazil: companies hire 80% more, but workers stay only 6.8 months in the job, the service market becomes a “revolving door,” and businesses spend increasingly more to train teams that soon leave.

After selling a unit for R$ 115 million to pay off debts, a traditional factory in SC founded in 1932 has a new R$ 64.8 million plan denied by the court and retains about 690 workers in Joinville.
The aim of the allowance is to provide financial support for low-income workers who meet the legal requirements. In 2025, the benefit is expected to reach about 25.8 million people nationwide.
Who Can Receive the Salary Allowance in 2025
The worker must meet certain requirements to receive the benefit. First, it is necessary to be registered in the PIS or Pasep for at least five years. Then, one must have worked with a formal contract for at least 30 days during the base year of 2023.
Another important point is the salary average. Only those who earned, on average, up to two minimum wages per month in 2023 are eligible for the allowance. This amount corresponds to R$ 2,640.00.
Finally, the worker’s data must be correctly provided in the RAIS (Annual Social Information Report) or in the eSocial system. This part depends on the employer.
How Much Will Be Paid
The amount of the allowance varies according to the time worked in 2023. The calculation is proportional. Those who worked the entire year receive the full amount. Those who worked for a shorter time receive a portion.
In 2025, the minimum wage is R$ 1,518. Therefore, those who worked all 12 months of 2023 receive R$ 1,518. If someone worked for six months, they would receive R$ 759, for example.
This rule seeks to make the payment fairer, considering each worker’s contribution time.
How to Check the PIS/PASEP Query
There are several ways to check if a worker is entitled to the allowance.
The main methods are:
- Digital Labor Card App
- Gov.br Portal
- Alô Trabalho Central, by phone 158
- Regional Superintendencies of Labor
These channels allow verifying eligibility and tracking the status of the salary allowance.
How Is Payment Made
The payment depends on the type of employment of the worker. For those working in the private sector, the responsible party is the Caixa Econômica Federal. The amount of the salary allowance can be directly deposited into the worker’s account if they already have an account with Caixa. If not, Caixa automatically opens a Digital Social Savings Account.
For public servants, the payment is made by Banco do Brasil. In this case, the money can be sent via credit to the account, Pix, TED, or even withdrawn in person. There are various options to facilitate access to the benefit.
Payment Schedule of the Salary Allowance
The payment of the salary allowance occurs in a staggered manner, according to the worker’s birth month. The schedule was defined by the Deliberative Council of the Worker Support Fund (Codefat).
