Bridge Is Transforming The Coast. The project, valued at nearly R$ 400 million, has already reached 17.7% completion and can be monitored live via cameras. Expected to create jobs and boost local infrastructure, this connection promises to bring significant changes to the region.
When modernity meets the need for development, impressive results can emerge, completely changing the landscape of a region.
The coastal region of Paraná is about to receive one of those transformations that promise to redefine its infrastructure and economic potential.
But what makes this project so special? In addition to the significant investment, there is a technological component that allows anyone to follow each advance in real-time.

The Guaratuba Bridge, with a budget of nearly R$ 400 million, already has 17.7% of its work completed.
This bridge, which will be a landmark for Paraná, will connect the cities of Matinhos and Guaratuba, generating jobs and facilitating the flow between municipalities.
To further promote transparency, surveillance cameras have been installed, allowing the public to monitor progress directly from their homes.
According to engineer Larissa Vieira from the Department of Highways of Paraná (DER/PR), technology is bringing the community closer to the project.
“The surveillance cameras installed at the Guaratuba bridge allow the public to closely follow the progress of one of the state’s most anticipated constructions. Moreover, they reinforce the commitment to quality and adherence to deadlines,” highlighted Larissa.

Transparency and Proximity to the Community
The two cameras, located at strategic points, provide a detailed view of the construction site.
The first is on the Guaratuba side, positioned to capture the movement in the industrial yard, where all the necessary materials and equipment for construction pass through.
The second camera, installed on the Matinhos side, offers a privileged view of the central supports of the bridge and the stay system, allowing the public to follow the progress of supports 4 and 5.
According to data collected by engineering until the end of August 2024, the project has already made significant progress, with the concreting of 16 piles, 12 pre-cast girders, and 2 cross-girders.
These numbers highlight the accelerated pace of construction, which is expected to positively impact traffic and the economy of the region.
Commitment and Financing
The bridge will be 1,244 meters long and will feature four traffic lanes, two safety lanes, rigid concrete barriers, as well as sidewalks with bike lanes and guardrails at the ends.
The project is being managed and overseen by the DER/PR, an agency linked to the Department of Infrastructure and Logistics (SEIL).
Financing is also largely secured. According to the Government of Paraná, the State Department of Finance has already released R$ 178 million, representing 46% of the estimated total cost.
In addition, more than R$ 108 million have already been allocated to cover the costs of the project just in 2024. This means that as the work progresses, financial resources are properly reserved to ensure its continuity.
The Impact of The Guaratuba Bridge
This project has been long awaited not only by the local population but also by the infrastructure and logistics sectors.
The connection between Matinhos and Guaratuba promises to facilitate the transport of goods and tourism, as well as improve the quality of life for those who need to travel daily between the two cities.
The economic impact will be significant, as the bridge will reduce travel time and contribute to the development of the entire coastal region of Paraná.
With the installation of surveillance cameras, the project gains an extra layer of transparency and engagement.
The community, which previously only heard about the construction, can now follow each phase of progress.
This creates a direct connection between the project and the citizens, who have the opportunity to monitor what is being done and whether deadlines are being met.
The expected completion in 2026 may seem distant, but the advances already observed and the Guaratuba Bridge is not just a monumental project; it represents a milestone in the development of the coastal region of Paraná, creating new job opportunities and boosting the economy of the area.
The impact goes beyond the construction itself, opening doors to a more connected and prosperous future for surrounding cities.
Now, the question remains: will the Guaratuba Bridge meet its schedule and deliver everything it promises by 2026? The population and tourists are eagerly awaiting the answer. The future of the coastal region of Paraná is at stake.
