The Free Online and Distance Courses Offered by the Government of Paraná in Partnership with Edutech Include Courses in Gaming, Programming, and Much More
Governor of Paraná Carlos Massa Ratinho Junior launched the EduTech program, which will offer students in the network free online and distance courses in programming, gaming, and animation. With 65,000 students enrolled, the program will feature 689 virtual classes.

The free online programming courses are for elementary and high school students, as well as for teachers in the state network. The teaching pathways for the free online and distance courses are divided by grade and include content such as gaming and animation, Data Science, front-end programming, mobile development, and programming in JavaScript and Python.
The classes for the free online courses are remote, with a programming teacher acting as a tutor for each virtual class. The course period runs from April 1st until the end of the 2021 school year.

“We want to prepare this new generation of youth, aged 14, 15, and 16, for these job opportunities. In Brazil, there are thousands of open positions and not enough professionals in the field, so the idea is to make Paraná the cradle of technology in the country and innovation in distance education,” said the governor.
“We are starting with 65,000 students, but we want to reach 150,000 and prepare the new generation for this technological world, which should be informed, specialized, and well-compensated.”
Programming and Gaming Market
The program is implemented amidst the expansion of the IT (Information Technology) market, which is expected to grow by 11% in 2021, according to a study by consulting firm IDC Brazil.
“In addition to knowledge, this project provides conditions for our students to build a career in the future in a market that increasingly seeks these professionals. The dominant language of the 21st century is that of computing, and that is the area for which Paraná students are being prepared to work,” emphasized Secretary Renato Feder.
For the president of Google in Brazil, technology companies and Google itself are always looking for specialized labor.
“A program like this helps open market doors for those who know digital tools. It will help generate more opportunities and train a group of professionals qualified for the field,” said Coelho.
