According to Notice No. 11/2025-PROEN/IFRN, published by the Institute, enrollment is intended for professionals who meet the following requirements:
- Hold a licentiate diploma recognized by the MEC;
- Have experience as a teacher in basic education in public schools and/or in quilombola communities.
Additionally, the notice provides for quotas for self-declared black, brown, indigenous, quilombola candidates, and persons with disabilities, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to inclusion and diversity in education.
R$ 700 Scholarships Ensure Financial Incentive

- Be a self-declared indigenous, black, brown, or quilombola teacher;
- Belong to rural populations;
- Be a deaf person or part of the target audience of special education.
Payments will be made by CAPES (Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel), through the Freire Platform.
The financial aid aims to ensure that professionals can complete their training without economic difficulties.
Why Is This Training Important?
The course offered by IFRN meets a growing demand for trained educators to work in traditional communities.
In recent years, quilombola education has gained increasing prominence, as it provides contextualized and respectful teaching of the cultures and traditions of these populations.
According to experts, the lack of teachers with specific training to work in these territories compromises the quality of education and hinders the implementation of educational policies aimed at valuing quilombola identity.
Therefore, the specialization offered by IFRN represents a significant advancement in the qualification of teachers to promote a more inclusive and equitable education.
How to Enroll?
Those interested must register online by accessing the IFRN portal at the following address: https://processoseletivo.ifrn.edu.br.
The enrollment period runs from March 10 to March 17, 2025, and the selection will be made through the analysis of candidates’ academic resumes.

For teachers looking to expand their knowledge and act more effectively in quilombola schools, this may be the ideal opportunity.
