The Inpa has just released the announcement for its Institutional Scientific Initiation Program (2024-2025), offering monthly scholarships of R$ 700 for undergraduate students enrolled in public or private higher education institutions.
The application deadline is September 22, 2024, and the process is entirely online. This may be the chance that many students have been waiting for to kickstart an academic or scientific career. But what to do to not miss this opportunity?
How to Participate in the Program?
To compete, the student must first find a supervisor in one of Inpa’s research groups. This supervisor will be responsible for enrolling the student in the program and submitting the research proposal.
In other words, the selection process goes directly through the researcher, who must validate the application. According to the announcement, the student will only be officially considered registered after the supervisor submits all required documents in the program’s online system.
The positions are open to students enrolled between the second and the penultimate semester of their undergraduate studies. Additionally, it is necessary to have a grade point average of 6.0 or higher.
The scholarship lasts for 11 months, with a start date expected for October 2024. The selected student will have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge in areas such as exact sciences, biological sciences, agrarian sciences, among others.
Application Deadline and Details About the Selection Process
The application deadline extends until September 22, 2024. Applications must be submitted exclusively online, through the link provided in the program announcement.
The student needs to ensure that all requested documents are submitted correctly, in digital format, according to the guidelines available in Announcement No. 36/2024.
The final selection will be announced by September 30, 2024. If the demand for scholarships exceeds the number available, a waiting list will be created, organized according to the candidates’ classification.
According to Inpa, approved students who do not secure a scholarship immediately may be called if there are withdrawals.
