With the increasing demand for qualified professionals to work with students with special needs, the Federal University of Alagoas (UFAL) has launched a unique opportunity for those who wish to specialize in this area.
Enrollment is open for the Improvement Course in Specialized Educational Assistance for Students with Intellectual Disabilities (CAAEE-DI), offered in EAD format and 100% free of charge.
The course, which will take place from August to December 2024, has a workload of 150 hours, distributed across 9 instructional units.

The main objective is to train Basic Education teachers to collaboratively and participatively act in Specialized Educational Assistance geared towards students with intellectual disabilities. Classes will be fully online, with tutor support and instructional materials provided to participants.
Targeted at teachers from public Basic Education networks, especially those working in Multifunctional Resource Rooms, the course aims to prepare educators to offer more inclusive and appropriate support.
To participate, a bachelor’s degree in Pedagogy or other teaching credentials is required, along with proof of professional ties in public or confessional schools as a teacher or coordinator.
How to Enroll
Enrollment must be completed by August 18, 2024, through a formrio online. The selection of candidates will occur in order of enrollment, according to the requirements established in the announcement, prioritizing teachers from Specialized Educational Assistance and Basic Education, as well as pedagogical coordinators.
A total of 250 openings will be offered, with 150 allocated to teachers of Specialized Educational Assistance, 75 for Basic Education teachers, and 25 for pedagogical coordinators. There will also be reserved spots for persons with disabilities (PwD) and self-declared black candidates.
