Ratinho, Host of SBT, Made a Surprising Decision to Sell All His Cattle for a Touching Reason.

When we talk about the host Ratinho, it is common to associate him with television, but few know about his vast rural properties spread across Brazil.

However, an unexpected decision by Ratinho involving his herd sparked debate and controversy in the agricultural sector.

Ratinho decided to sell all his cattle at once, after a deeply moving experience.

What would motivate such a successful businessman to make this decision? The answer is far from what many might imagine and involves a story that deeply affected him.

According to information from the YouTube channel Fatos Rurais, Ratinho owned thousands of cattle, being an important figure in the national agribusiness.

His farms, located in different states, were known for their vast production.

However, something made him make a drastic decision: overnight, he sold all the cattle.

According to Ratinho himself, the reason for this sudden sale is linked to an experience he describes as “traumatic” and that impacted him deeply.

The Trauma That Changed Everything

The host, in an emotional interview, revealed that the separation of calves from their mothers was the trigger for this decision.

He recounted that, while visiting one of his farms, he witnessed the moment when approximately 10,000 calves were separated from their mothers.

The suffering of the animals, who spent days “crying” for each other, shook Ratinho in a way he had never anticipated.

As reported by Fatos Rurais, this scene left him so sad that he developed a sort of temporary depression.

Ratinho stated: “I don’t want to separate mother and child anymore. I decided to sell everything. I told the manager: sell all the cattle, I don’t want to go through this again.”

Prominent Farms in Brazil

In addition to the controversial episode with the cattle, Ratinho owns several farms that are still in full operation, but now focused on agriculture.

In the state of Acre, he has two major farms, one of which is the largest in the state, covering 150,000 hectares.

The other, combined with the first, covers about 200,000 hectares, according to reports.

Despite their size, Ratinho stated that he does not exploit these areas for cultivation, but could legally use the timber from the region.

Also according to the Fatos Rurais channel, in Paraná, he also maintains important properties.

Among them is the Fazenda Costa Rica, with 508 hectares, of which almost 480 are dedicated to soy production.

Besides its agricultural function, this farm serves as a recreational spot for the host and his family, featuring a soccer field and a large lake.

Another notable property is the Fazenda Ubatuba, located in Apucarana, with an area of 10,000 hectares and valued at over R$ 80 million.

Interestingly, this farm was once one of the largest coffee producers in Paraná, with over 1.3 million coffee plants planted.

A New Direction: From Cattle Ranching to Agriculture

The decision to sell the cattle also had a strategic component.

According to Fatos Rurais, Ratinho revealed in a recent interview that the entry of meatpacking giant Friboi into the market was decisive for his exit from the sector.

He stated that Friboi caused a significant rise in meat prices, which, in his view, would make competition very difficult.

“Am I going to compete with the big dogs?” the host quipped when commenting on his exit from cattle ranching.

Since then, Ratinho has decided to focus his efforts on more stable agricultural crops, such as soy, corn, and coffee.

Currently, Ratinho has a few heads of cattle, just enough for his own consumption and that of his farm employees.

He often shares leisure moments on the properties, including videos on his social media, where he showcases his barbecues and teaches cooking techniques in the traditional style of “fogo de chão.”

In one of these posts, Ratinho jokes: “There are no secrets here. Just put the meat a meter and a half from the fire and let it roast for 5 or 6 hours while we chat and have a drink.”

Conservation and Sustainable Production

In addition to his role in entertainment and agribusiness, Ratinho also stands out for his care for the environment.

He advocates that it is possible to reconcile environmental conservation with agricultural production.

According to what is shown by the Fatos Rurais channel, Ratinho frequently publishes videos in which he highlights the balance between cultivated areas and preserved areas on his farms.

He says that “it is possible to preserve and produce,” and that it is essential to value those who are producing in Brazil.

Otherwise, the country risks collapsing economically.

A Future Without Cattle, But With Purpose

Even though the sale of the cattle was a significant milestone in Ratinho’s life, he continues to invest in his farms and in agricultural production.

The shift in focus to crops such as soy, corn, and coffee reflects not only a safer business strategy but also a commitment to ethical principles.

Ratinho no longer sees himself as a cattle rancher but rather as an advocate for sustainable and ethical agricultural practices.

After all, could Ratinho’s exit from cattle ranching inspire other large farmers to rethink their practices?
