ANP Recorded The Best August For The Refinery Since 2015 After Experiencing An Explosion And Fire Last Year
The Replan refinery in Paulínia, SP, has been on a rising production curve since December, achieving the highest production for August since 2015, according to ANP data. Even the maintenance shutdown did not hinder Replan’s production.
The refinery is Petrobras’ largest and processed 1.7 million cubic meters of oil. The plant’s output had been increasing, but with this result, it returns to the same level of production as before last year’s explosion.
Data from ANP shows the best August since 2015, see below the refinery’s production during this period since 2015:

Few remember, but the 2024 drought in the Amazon already affects transport, energy, and agriculture. Rivers are reaching critical levels, smoke covers cities, and the scenario triggers a global alert about climate change.

The fastest-growing risk in Brazilian cities isn’t only apparent during heavy rainfall; it has already increased by 145% since 1985, covers 1.2 million hectares, and can transform floods and inundations into an increasingly common threat.
August/2015: 1,877,263m³
August/2016: 1,591,808m³
August/2017: 1,546,602m³
August/2018: 1,094,526m³
August/2019: 1,712,118m³
The volume produced in July was also the highest when comparing it to the same period last year, and the most important figures indicate the resumption of the refinery’s production after the serious fire that affected one of the processing lines on the night of August 20, 2018.
Five months after the explosion, the refinery resumed operation at 100% capacity on January 25, 2019. Replan is responsible for 21% of all oil refining in Brazil and its product list is extensive, including gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), fuel oil, asphalt, and more.
The refinery’s production services the interior of São Paulo, southern Minas, the Triângulo Mineiro, and the states of Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Rondônia, Acre, Goiás, Brasília (DF), and Tocantins.
