iez! Telecom acquired the Southeast lot in Anatel’s 700 MHz auction for R$ 4.4 million and already operates commercial 5G in Minas Gerais. The goal is to cover federal highways and inland cities with high-speed signal.
iez! Telecom consolidated its position as one of Brazil’s leading regional players by winning lot A5 of Anatel’s 700 MHz band auction. With an investment of R$ 4.4 million in grants, the operator secured the right to bring internet signal to the Southeast (excluding the state of São Paulo).
As reported by CanalTech, the acquisition is strategic, as the 700 MHz frequency is the ideal tool for efficiently covering large territorial extensions. Unlike very high-speed frequencies, which have a short range, iez! Telecom‘s 700 MHz signal stands out for:
- Long-Range Coverage: Ability to bring 4G/5G signal to over 6,500 km of federal highways.
- Obstacle Penetration: Ease of passing through obstacles.
- Infrastructure Efficiency: Allows covering rural areas and roads using fewer antennas.
- Social Focus: Serving over 800 localities in 16 states, integrating previously isolated regions.
iez! Telecom and the new landscape of regional operators in Brazil
The recent Anatel auction was marked by the absence of national giants (Claro, TIM, and Vivo) and the dominance of new regional forces that, together, invested about R$ 23 million in grants.

A bus that crosses an underwater tunnel in Havana Bay has become Cuba’s most essential means of transport during the worst fuel crisis in decades; the Ciclobús carries 2,000 people a day with their bicycles and electric motorcycles because gasoline has been rationed to 20 liters per vehicle.

NASA’s Super Guppy looks impossible to fly, but its 33.8-meter cargo hold, 7.6-meter fuselage, and 110-degree opening nose transport giant parts that won’t fit through tunnels, bridges, or narrow roads.

Brazil discovers natural hydrogen in four states and enters the silent race that could redraw the energy transition: Petrobras has already invested R$ 20 million in studies.
In addition to iez! Telecom, other companies divided the map of Brazilian connectivity in 2026:
| Lot / Region | Winning Company | Area of Focus |
| A1 (North and SP) | Amazônia Serviços Digitais | Interior of SP and North Region |
| A2 and A3 (Northeast/CO) | Brisanet Serviços de Telecomunicações | Northeast and Central-West States |
| A4 (South) | Unifique Telecomunicações | Southern Region States |
| A5 (Southeast except SP) | iez! Telecom | Highways and cities in the Southeast |
Therefore, with the combination of the 3.5 GHz frequency for cities and 700 MHz for highways, iez! Telecom envisions a future where 1 Giga ultra-speed and stable signal on roads cease to be a privilege of metropolises and become the new reality of rural Brazil.
1 Giga 5G: The commercial debut in Minas Gerais
While planning expansion to roads, iez! Telecom has already accelerated in urban areas. Since April 18, the city of Itaú de Minas (MG) has become the ground zero for the company’s commercial 5G operation.
The major technological differentiator reported by the company, after rigorous internal tests, is the delivery of download speeds exceeding 1 Gbps, a level that puts mobile internet on par with the best domestic fiber optic connections.
To enable access for the end consumer, mobile phone plans are being sold through NetSpeed.
The packages were structured for those who don’t want to worry about basic browsing limits:
- Plan 1: 50 GB data allowance.
- Plan 2: 100 GB data allowance.
Business model: The union between operators and local providers
The arrival of iez! Telecom symbolizes a growing trend in the Brazilian telecommunications sector: the union of forces between an operator’s network infrastructure and the local service provided by regional providers.
By utilizing iez!’s network capacity, NetSpeed expands its offering from fixed to mobile without needing to build antennas from scratch. According to Diogo Câmara, retail executive director of iez! Telecom, the focus on the interior is a deliberate choice:
“The operation launched in Itaú de Minas symbolizes exactly that: cutting-edge technology concretely reaching cities through strong regional partners close to the population.”
