The Launch Of The Renault Electric Compact Car Is Scheduled For The End Of February 2024, With 52 And 40 kWh Batteries, Marking A Significant Advance In Electric Vehicle Technology. This Launch Promises To Revolutionize The Automotive Market With Its Efficiency And Sustainability.
The initial cost of the Renault 5 E-Tech electric car will be around 25,000 euros, which is equivalent to about R$ 135,000 in a direct conversion. As mentioned, the vehicle will occupy approximately the same position as the discontinued Renault Zoe and will compete with rivals such as the Volkswagen ID.2 and the updated Peugeot e-208 in Europe, for example.
According to the plan, the Renault 5 E-Tech will initially be introduced in the markets of France and Germany, still in 2024. The following year, the vehicle will be available in the UK and other countries.
In Brazil, the arrival of the Renault 5 E-Tech is not yet confirmed, but that does not mean it is ruled out. Renault is working on several innovations and is prioritizing models with an SUV/crossover proposal. Therefore, there may be more chances of seeing the electric Renault 4 in the future, at least initially.

New Renault 5 E-Tech Electric (2024): Design And Features
Regarding the design, the front of the classic model with an air intake in the hood has disappeared, replaced by a charging indicator light that displays the iconic number ‘5’ when fully charged.
The fenders have been expanded to give the car a wider appearance, while the rear resembles the sporty R5 Turbo of the past. The vertical taillights serve to “amplify” the side of the vehicle, which was designed to improve its aerodynamics.
These changes in design aim not only to modernize the vehicle but also to enhance its energy efficiency.
The latest electric model from Renault measures 3.92 meters in length and will be available with two battery options. One of them will have a capacity of 52 kWh and an estimated range of 400 km (WLTP). Additionally, there will be an option with a 40 kWh battery and a range of 300 km.
The Renault 5 E-Tech electric vehicle is equipped with a bidirectional charger, making it the first production vehicle from the manufacturer to feature V2G (vehicle-to-grid) technology. This technology, supported by Mobilize, allows the vehicle to supply energy to the power grid, even when not in use. Thus, the car not only consumes energy but can also contribute to the power grid.
The upcoming electric vehicle from Renault, the Renault 5, now has an official presentation date. The French automaker announced that its new electric car will be unveiled to the public in production version during the Geneva Motor Show on February 26, 2024. At the same time, some teaser images of the novelty were released.
The Renault 5 E-Tech is considered a successor to the Zoe and offers an urban proposition. It is the first vehicle based on the new AmpR Small platform (formerly CMF-B EV). The multi-link rear suspension stands out, contributing “to excellent stability and road grip.”
