Revolution Is Significantly Expanding And To Follow This Growth Opened A Factory In February And Is Already Planning The Construction Of A Third Unit Later This Year.
Revolution, a company acquired by the American investment fund Aetreum in 2021 and seen as an extension of manufacturers for adapting and transforming vehicles, opened its second factory in Tatuí (SP) in February and is already planning to start building the third unit by the end of this year. Another project for next year is to work on transforming gasoline-powered vehicles into electric ones. Currently, the company transforms traditional vehicles into police cars, ambulances, and fire trucks. The service is directed to special vehicles for public agencies, a niche expected to yield R$ 800 million this year.
Revolution Is Developing New Technologies Focused On The Automotive Market
Of that total of R$ 800 million, only the vehicle transformation company is expected to obtain 65%, estimates Revolution’s president, Flávio Almada. The executive also claims that the company is the largest in Latin America and, in addition to being an engineering firm, Revolution deconstructs vehicles to reconstruct them according to customer demand.
Items such as electrical parts are removed, the structure is modified, and the wiring harnesses are also removed, considering that fire trucks and ambulances must have a reinforced structure. In addition to transforming vehicles with four or more wheels, the company also works with motorcycles that operate in services such as policing and is developing ballistic protection technology for these vehicles.

The automaker association, Anfavea, does not have data on the importance of this market for the sector. Toyota has two approved companies to meet the customization demands for bids won by the brand. The company states that the public is looking for solutions that deliver greater robustness and reliability. The representation of the vehicle transformation sector is essential to business, but no figures are disclosed.
Revolution Expects Growth After Installation Of The New Factory
The company’s director estimates a market of 80,000 transformed vehicles in its factories this year, which represents an 18% growth compared to last year, and a large part of this total is expected to be SUVs and vans for police use, a sector that was represented in the last two years, when the demand for ambulances increased due to the pandemic. It is worth mentioning that the group arrived in Brazil six years ago and is headquartered in Sorocaba (SP).
The third Revolution factory will be responsible for producing parts and signaling systems that, for now, are purchased from other companies, alongside the Tatuí unit. The company currently creates jobs for 700 people, who are mostly engineers.
Monthly Revenue Of The Company Rises From R$ 7 Million To R$ 57 Million
Since its sale, the company, which belonged to the American multinational Rev, has undergone significant production expansion, increasing from 400 to 2,000 units per month. Revolution’s revenue has risen from R$ 7 million to up to R$ 52 million.
The company is approved by most automakers. They participate in bids and delegate the task to the responsible company for vehicle transformation. According to the company’s director, there are at most four companies in the country specialized in catering exclusively to public agencies. Orders are constant due to the need to renew fleets; however, in election years, this number increases.
According to the commercial director, Edson Oliveira, the company is an extension of the manufacturer and needs to have experience for adaptations to be made, including high investments in engineering. The company works alongside the manufacturer, which tests and approves projects and issues certificates to Denatran.
