Head of Santander Talks About Internship Program
Nicolás Vergara, head of Santander Universities, states: “Getting an internship in the current scenario is a challenge, and the University Companies program – which has been around since 2015 – makes even more sense. We bring together the two ends, those who need support in hiring an intern and those trying to access the job market for the first time,”
The program grants more than a thousand scholarships a year since its inception, ensuring that university students can have their first experiences in the work world. Half of the interns are hired or have their contracts renewed after the scholarship ends. The Avançar program connects with companies offering opportunities, promoting the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises.
“We know that the current scenario is challenging, and our goal is to contribute to the continued development of small and medium enterprises. We want to accelerate the recovery of businesses, and providing an intern may be one way to facilitate this process,” explains Franco Fasoli, Business and Corporate Director.
