The National Service for Industrial Training (SENAI) is heavily investing in courses for the future of electric mobility. With an investment of R$ 30 million, the institution is preparing to train professionals who will take care of the maintenance and other needs of electric vehicles in the coming years. This strategic investment comes in response to the growing demand for electric cars, driven by environmental concerns and changes in legislation.

Brazil is witnessing a significant increase in the adoption of electric vehicles. According to data from the Goiás State Department of Transit (Detran), more than 5,534 electric or hybrid vehicles are already circulating in the state. With most of these vehicles still under warranty, it is only a matter of time before the demand for maintenance and repair services begins to increase significantly.

Electric Vehicles Improvement Course

SENAI is preparing for this scenario. The institution plans to launch a comprehensive course that will cover everything from the installation of charging stations to the maintenance of vehicles, including battery replacement and electrical system maintenance. With classes expected to take place in Goiânia, the course will last approximately one week, with 20 to 30 spots available. This course is ideal for professionals already working with vehicles who wish to specialize in the electrical field.

Investment in Infrastructure and Equipment

The course is still in the project phase and is set to launch in six to eight months. According to Anderson Ferreira dos Santos, technical supervisor at SENAI, a significant investment in infrastructure and equipment will be necessary to provide quality training. “We are making an investment of R$ 30 million just in Goiânia. We need to modernize our structure, acquire the cars and other necessary equipment,” explained Anderson.

Challenges of Electric Vehicle Maintenance

Although electric vehicles have a lower complexity compared to traditional vehicles, they require special care with the batteries. Workshops need to be prepared to handle these components safely, including actions such as having a separate box to avoid accidents and partnering with someone for emergency situations.
